Wears #14 and he gets Ozil on-board long term. I'm excited - I've loved watching Auba for years. Feels similar (but not quite at the same level) to when Henry joined the Red Bulls.

I have no idea how Wenger is going to set the team up tactically, but I'm excited about Arsenal for the first time in at least a year.

I've had Auba in my FIFA career mode for years now, as well as Laca. I'm glad my weekly tweeting of my lineup screen shots have finally gotten someone's attention at Colney. I have Manolas too. Some people, like me, just ahead of the curve.

    Now go sign Douglas Costa.

    Stoked!!!

I had no confidence in the club getting the deal done on time but they did. Please remind me, did he not play wide alongside Lewa early in his BvB days?

I guess I see what you're saying, but I really want PEA14 to tear things up like TH14 in EPL, not TH14 in MLS. Tear things up like I've seen in those Dortmund highlight reels. But that's gonna depend on things like shape, service and chemistry. Pray for him, pray for us.

I don't care that it lacks width. It's not like we play with width anyways. Make it happen Wenger.

...I mean, yeah, obviously. I was excited for Henry to come to the Red Bulls because it was my favorite player joining (one of) my favorite teams. I'm now excited for (one of) my favorite players to join my favorite team.

Glad he scored on his debut. that weight is lifted off his shoulders early so now he can just play his game

Auba did look like what we've been missing. Real test is on this Saturday.

FYI, on yesterday's Arsecast they said that the correct way to pronounce his name is something more like "Obama-yong". Interesting.

Auba wins EPL POTM for Sept 2019. Well done!!

He's been a one-man scoring machine this season. Not the healthiest thing, squad wise. But it puts him right up near the top of the golden boot contest, early days though.

Ps. I'm havin deja vu about makin a post just like this several years ago about a different player. He was traded short while later, after he came off the boil. I hope that same fate doesn't happen to Auba!

Seriously without Aubameyang we are probably in the same place where man united is. Some games are midfield is so poor he barley gets any service. When Laca returns he will even get better. Such an elite striker, such a great personality, positive, encouraging he should be captain along with Laca not Xhaka. Hopefully Auba wins the golden boot this year again but outright!

He is just brilliant and a wonderful personality to match his amazing play. I'm seriously going to miss him when he leaves. Thanks Wenger best thing he did in his last days!

Why he doesn't play centrally exclusively boggles my mind. Btw "HE iS a POachER and ONLy scores TaPins" ok lol

Someone analyzed it and found that Arsenal actually score more when Auba is on the wing.

Most likely because when PEA is on the wing Laca is at ST and even if Laca hasn't had a great season the threat of a PEA/Laca/Pepe forward line has defenses on edge more than the alternative options. If you had a quality scoring LW and played PEA at ST I have little doubt that your numbers would be just as good.

Quality LW like Saka pre LB.... you are right, but why is Eddie playing as central striker in lew of Aubameyang that is puzzling to me.

Because we have no one else who can play at LW. Arsenal with Auba at LW and Martinelli/Eddie/Lacazette is better than than traffic cone at LW and Auba central.

Auba still scores a ton as a LW.
