Agree. the test will be can the Hunt's and Luchi handle the heat if they start losing a lot from playing the young kids, or just starting losing a lot in general. The game last night was really poor by FCD but LAFC is a pretty strong group. Making money selling players is probably a lot more beneficial to the Hunts as averaging 12K a game in Frisco isn't going to get anyone Jerry Jones money.
Why would playing Sunday hurt him in Poland? I doubt he plays 90 but 60 minutes starting or 30 as a sub would seem ideal before going to a tournament. They'll probably monitor him there and slowly amp up his playing time if he's healthy.
What I mean is the opposite. I'm convinced there's a reason that Servania and Cerrillo have already left for Poland, while Pomykal hasn't. He needs to prove to Ramos that he's ready to go by playing against LAFC on Sunday. If he's not fit enough to, then Ramos can replace him with Aaronson or Amaya. It should be noted that while Pomykal has been out, FCD has been pretty darn awful............................
Wilson Harris '99 was signed short-term by SKC for the game against Vancouver. https://www.sportingkc.com/post/201...al&utm_source=tw&utm_campaign=517wilsonharris
The more I think about it, he would have to have a pretty incredible U20 performance to get sold right after. It’s not like he’s played in that many games in MLS. Then again, we saw how easily Chris Richards was sold with MLS minutes even though he was part of the program with Bayern. Have we seen results of players getting sold because they had a great U20 WC?
Americans don't get sold enough for that to happen. They get signed from it, though. Other people do, though. Jean-Kevin Augustin comes to mind after the last WC. He turned the golden boot into a 15 million dollar transfer to Leipzig. (edit: which is, of course, exactly what Weah is trying to do. The same position at the same club and everything).
That seems to be a pretty strange thing to do, given that he has to prove his fitness to Ramos by playing for Dallas in Los Angeles on Sunday ... but what do I know?
FCD media a few days ago said the opposite, but maybe Pomykal has proven to Ramos that he's fit and ready to go. I hope so, because he's played 45 minutes in the past month.
Herrera was well behind Brooks (team captain) and Acosta, and now he's surpassed both. Never know for sure how prospects will develop in either direction. Looks quite smooth on the ball and more athletic. The other two didn't progress, although I still have some hope for Lennon. One of the Americans who could be served well with a change of environment. He's more of a winger than fullback. Just use him as the one who provides width. He can take players off the dribble a bit too.
I agree that Lennon is not a fullback. I don't know why he was ever used as a fullback. It came soon after Zusi switched to fullback, and it seemed like Lennon's move to fullback had a lot to do with his ability to cross the ball, similar to the reason Zusi moved to fullback. Both would've been better off staying at RW. Acosta issues have nothing to do with his ability to play well. They had everything to do with his training habits, and his sudden lack of playing time in Orlando after he started the season well might suggest that the same habits have cropped up again. Petke has a bad reputation for how he deals with young players in RSL and I think Acosta could've been traded during the season when he decided he had no use for him anymore instead of waiting a full season, but Acosta doesn't lack for performances. He lacks for ability to keep himself on the field.
Pick and cheeky long chip for the assist by Saucedo, to couple with his prior golazo. Another really strong game by him, checking ball to win balls on defense, being an outlet, and displaying passing creativity to break through the Toronto back line. Not good on take-ons because his lack of quicks, but could complement another winger w/ those traits like Pulisic. Probably has an inside track on making the Olympic qualifying squad, possibly the final one itself. Make it 3️⃣ for #RSL!Savarino with the classy finish. https://t.co/MGp4M3TDsx— Major League Soccer (@MLS) May 18, 2019
Yueill assist Jackson Yueill during this whole damn sequence... guy's 100% legit. pic.twitter.com/M9T642e8fA— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) May 18, 2019
If Saucedo had speed he’d be on Pulisic’s level even though he has a different skill set. Good start to the youths weekend. Too bad most are with the U20’s. Looking forward to some Aaronson and Amaya though. Btw anyone know what happened with Lindsey and Waz Kuzain with SKC? For all their talk about injuries I’m surprised neither made the bench in recent games.
Lindsey is injured and I'm not sure if this is why he isn't being called up, but Kuzain just isn't very good IMO. The guy they signed to the emergency relief contract does intrigue me though. Wilson Harris has looked pretty good for SPR, good hold up play and good finishing.
Kuzain has an ankle injury and last played for SPR in late April. Whether he's good or not, he'd be on the bench if healthy given SKC's extreme shortage of players.
I’ve watched most of their games. He seems to put himself or set himself up for great chances, but his finishing needs to improve. There was one most probably would have put away. There’s been at least 2 others that had the same story as yesterday. I’m sure he has the ability and confidence to be a good finisher based on his skill on the ball and passing, but maybe he’s panicking?
