He just plays with so little intensity, not nearly enough for the pro level. I remember multiple times last year hearing his teammates yell "WTF JACKSON" or "COME ON JACKSON" at him when he'd just.. give up on a play. Usually, young players are flying around but he just seems dis-interested at times. Idk, I would agree with @Tactical Hipster that Okonkwo is the much more interesting player.

Just to add to this, it's an academy contract, not a pro deal. He was on the bench in Charlotte's first game of the season last night.

Tell us how he plays. Maybe we can get an every touch video?

Good prospect. Between the two '03 lefty RW's who like to cut in on their left, I prefer his game to Sealy.

I'm not going to do all-touches for most USL players but I will record any notable moments he has and let you guys know how he plays.

I was most impressed by Ben Ofeimu. His passing range is really nice and he can ping balls very accurately with both feet. He made a couple of last-ditch tackles but did have a few mistakes defensively. de Vries and Rayyan had trouble linking up with each other and both really struggled to find the game. Rayyan did look much better near the end of the second half. Cole Turner looked pretty good too, with some good defensive ability and passing. Nathan Harriel didn't look up to speed. He gave away a penalty and got burned a few times. Real had some good moments and some bad but nothing that stuck out. And Bohui really struggled to get into the game which is to be expected of a 15 year old. Probably had like 8 touches in his 30 minutes and didn't do much of note with them. His work rate was nice though which is encouraging to see.

Just so I'm clear, are you saying you think McCabe should be playing in MLS? I haven't seen him play since his freshman year, but I thought he adapted very quickly to NCAA D1 soccer and am not surprised that he's done it again in the pros, albeit at the MLS level.

This week, at least, it was apparently Guillen keeping Perez on the bench. Meantime, does Taylor deserve some kind of look as a U23 LB? Never seen him play.

It's the other way around, I think — Taylor is the RB and he's the one keeping Manny Perez on the bench. Guillen is the LB.

Also, when Perez played last week, he came on for one of NC's outside midfielders.

In my opinion, yes. He has a very good IQ and is always well placed in the field. He is not the most outstanding player of his team, but he is very intelligent to control the game and circulate the ball, he does not make many mistakes and almost never gives a bad pass.
Maybe now Cincinnati could use a player like him, but they prefer that he win more experience playing in the USL; although it is also a fact that in the first and second year of the new franchises never play with young players.

He probably won't qualify for a work permit, so they should definitely sign him anyway, then have to loan him out to a USL club. Maybe North Carolina FC.

Holy hell, that's a long list. I feel like every single team has taken a notable step up in YNT usage from last year.

'97 Tommy Madden ended up subbing in for his USL debut for New Mexico against Phoenix, playing one minute according to Transfermarkt.

'00 El Salvador YNT and DCU academy player Allexon Saravia also subbed in to made his USL debut, for Loudoun against Memphis, playing six minutes. The DA site lists him with US nationality and Alexandria as his hometown.
