Odegaard had a move at the back line into the box that was so exquisite, with which he left 3 defenders standing and wondering where he was.

 

People are sleeping on Valverde. He's the closest out of all of our youngsters with the chance of becoming world class. Already gonna be a starter next world cup with Uruguay at the age of 19. It's interesting that we could've signed Bentancur last year as well, both are great talents, great physically and tecnically and compliment each other really well.

 

I’m not, and i’ve seen others discuss him, I really really like this player and he seems to be doing well at the moment, I really like his allround game, hoping for a lot from him

 

Most seem optimistic about Valverde and are expecting him back here within the next two years. The problem is, his position is very much filled at the moment, and the players he is competing against are very young themselves.

Ødegaard garners more interest because he is an attacking and creative player, something we need. What we are desperate for though is a goal scorer. Seems we have neglected this issue from the top down, putting all our eggs in the Vinicius basket. Hope that pays off.

I’m excited to see him back next season, hopefully we could put him in the rotation, he is ready.

 

He needs better players around him. He is very confident with the ball at his feet, good dribble, pace and great vision for his age.

 

It was weird at the end of the game. Did he score a goal and then, the ref called it back and awarded a PK at the other end after VAR?

 

He literally played all by him self in that game

 

Doesn't he seem raw to you still? A liga loan maybe.

What do you find raw about his game?

 

I think Vinicius has probably ended Odegaard's chances for coming back to the club and it may be an entire generation (Bale, Hazard, James, Neymar, Mbaetc.) who sees their opportunity at Real Madrid and the post Messi/Ronaldo era best player race wiped out by him.

 

What do you mean by that?

 

I mean that guys like Bale and James are seeing there chances of playing for the club next season diminished every week, and guys like Neymar and Hazard will miss their chance altogether.

We will probably start to build around Vinicius as the centerpiece and will look for ancillary players not "galacticos". I don't see these players coming to play second fiddle to a teenager and I don't see it happening for Odegaard at all.

 

I really hope Odegaard pans out. I think he has ridiculously good vision and field awareness. I think he needs to develop physically a bit more...get stronger to play at the highest level. Probably needs a year or two in La Liga and then we'll see. A special talent for sure.

God knows others have and besides flashes they have been inconsistent at best.
