Does that mean they're out of the mix for Fabian Johnson? One degree of DeAndre in every direction. When it started, it was pretty exciting, but as time went on and on and not knowing where you are going to be, it gets a little bit stressful. We hear you, DeAndre.
Before deciding on Spurs, Yedlin consulted with three teammates with English Premier League experience. Djimi Traore, Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey all told him the London club would be a good landing spot for him in the next step in his professional career. When U.S. National Team Head Coach and Spurs legend Jurgen Klinsmann expressed the same sentiment, the choice became obvious for Yedlin. http://www.soundersfc.com/post/2014...in-speaks-following-agreed-transfer-tottenham

Nooooooo!!! It's a conspiracy!! He should have went to ROME!!!! Oh well...I just hope he gets max PT over there. I prefer he play along side Totti than....well anything Spurs have over there.
Not sure if anyone posted this link yet: http://www.sounderatheart.com/sound.../explaining-deandre-yedlin-transfer-tottenham Delayed transfer, not a loan back. Looks like Seattle is still paying his current contract salary. Fascinating.
Not for a full back. Cafu never had elite ball skills nor did Dani Alves. Roberto Carlos had am amazing shot but his ball skills were just normal.
Insane post. Seriously. I don't know what you mean by "elite" but to compare Yedlin and Cafu's "ball skills"... I mean, how can anyone ever take you seriously? Here is just the first video for "cafu skills" on youtube. Or just two games here - starts with a nice Cryuff and step-over, cut back, a little nutmeg, another little nutmeg (I think Cafu is maybe 23 here?)... And even if anyone were to suggest that Yedlin is going to reach R Carlos "normal" ball skills level, an "amazing shot" is the key weapon in a number of otherwise "normal" wingers games: Beckham, Bale (well, shot and speed), Carlos, etc. If you are really throwing around those three names like that is a level that Yedlin is likely to reach, well, ok.
I appreciate yedlins style and while I would have loved his work rate on the wing at Napoli, comparing him to one of the greatest Right Backs we have ever seen is perhaps a bit of a pedestal he can't live up to? If he has career equal or greater than Cherundolo he's one of the greats in USMNT history. Let's just sit back and witness a great RB playing for an ambitious Premier League team!
Yeah, that's the first thing that came to my mind too. In the 2002 WC, I also remember him doing the same thing, except instead of a sombrero it was a triple nutmeg. It was either against Turkey or China, can't remember for sure.
Naughton has been our weakest link for a couple of seasons... hence the need to buy an adequate backup RB. BTW... Spurs win in the 93rd minuted on a goal by a 20 year-old RB. Disclaimer: Dier is actually a centerback by trade, just bought from Sporting CP. Very interesting background... has lived much of his life in Portugal, and has come up through Sporting's academy. Very unusual from an Englishman. Real bargain for Spurs, it appears.
First choice Walker is injured at the moment, Naughton the back up got sent off today, with young centre back Eric Dier having to play out of position - and scored the winning goal. Yedlin would have been straight into the team mid week if he was at Spurs now, but we'll manage and Yedlin will develop from another half season with the Sounders.
Roberto Carlos is a bit before my time but Dani Alves definitely has very good ball skills. Still, I think Yedlin's dribbling is not weakness. He actually has had some decent dribbles from the RB spot in his last couple of games.
reading before posting stuff like that is useful. Read what I posted, not what those voices in your head are telling you.
In case this Mirror article didn't make this thread: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/who-deandre-yedlin-you-need-4054993
The thing I hate most about this move, is that I have to, once again, cheer for Spurs to get that last spot in the CL by finishing 4th over Arsenal, which of course will look very likely until the 3rd to the last game, and Arsenal will have it wrapped up by the 2nd to last game somehow. The only thing I like less than Spurs in the EPL is Arsene's ability to latch on to that last CL spot. Not that I dislike Wenger, I just hate how somehow Arsenal just plods along and pips that spot over Everton and Spurs every year lately.
This is the part that kind of sucks for Yedlin. So no big pay raise until he actually leaves for Spurs.
