Yeah, I'd love to see the video of how he broke his hand. Not a common soccer injury. But, hey, look at the bright side: at least it's just a broken hand, and not a broken leg!
He plays football, not gridiron. Depending on how bad the break is, he's out for 3-6 weeks. Not good, but at least he'll escape blame for the looming string of defeats
Getting injured is never good... and the fact that he has been losing time to Manquillo and he just got hurt should have given him a string of games to solidify a starting role. Yedlin is starting to be the new Brooks for the USMNT... one injury after another.
Yedlin was fouled as he made a pass and the opponent then stepped awkwardly on his hand. It happened about 3 minutes after Yedlin came on. The opponent who did it seemed to feel very sorry about it and actually got right down with Yedlin and held his hand. That also looked awkward. Yedlin finished out the 2nd half with a big hand wrap. Not sure he’ll be out 3-6 weeks considering he finished the game.
Newcastle, who had lost Willems, Jonjo Shelvey and Javier Manquillo to injury before the start of the second half, were forced to play the final 40 minutes of the game with 10 men after Fabian Schar limped off with a hamstring problem five minutes after the restart. By that stage, Newcastle had used all three substitutes. Yedlin suffered his injury shortly afterwards, but Bruce paid tribute to the former Seattle Sounders player for playing through the pain barrier for the remainder of the game, despite the problem with his hand. "We lost four players to injury and might be without a fifth now because we think that Yedlin has broken his hand," Bruce said. "He played on manfully for the rest of the game, but I don't know how long he will be out for. "We need to get him X-rayed, maybe also a scan, but it's a mess. https://www.espn.com/soccer/newcast...eandre-yedlins-broken-hand-looks-a-mess-coach

Really great news that Yedlin played the 90 today... finally, some good news on a possible USMNT player injury. Gotta be bummed they couldn't get the win though.
