Who’s faster, Yedlin or Almiron? Dudes are super fast!

Win away at Wolves = very good result. Yedlin wasn't of note, though.

Yedlin important steal to start a counter, but last ball to Almiron isn't accurate enough to give him a chance at goal. Almiron has made an impressive debut, able to handle the speed and physicality and one cross good enough to be an assist with if a great shot had been taken.

What a massive keeper blunder by Newcastle to concede at the death!

    That's typical. Trust me.

Dubravka fails to punch out an excessively lofted cross - tries to catch when any touch would have kept it out. Yikes.

    Unfortunate and uncharacteristic for Dubravka.

Being three points clear of relegation would have been so much better than one point clear. Yedlin settled down in 2H after some rough reviews here for his 1H performance.

He did get bailed out on that last sequence by a bad attacking touch, but yeah, much better second half.

Newcastle has some huge games coming up. They're off this weekend because of the FA Cup, but then play home against Huddersfield on the 23rd and home against Burnley on the 26th. Those games will determine the outcome of their season.

As a goalkeeper sometimes you have to try and make a play. It's such a fine line between trying to stay, punch, or catch. Fortune favors the brave. Sometime it doesnt work out.

NUFC seems to have survived their murderers row. With 12 games left, only Arsenal and Liverpool left to play in the current top 8. Huddersfield up next.

That's the kind of keeper error to make you wonder what result "Another Win" was selling.

Backing up on lofted balls to back post can be perilous. Difficult to get height on the jump and can’t see what is coming up behind you. He got burned and it looked bad.

My son plays keeper in the RSL system and I cringe on those deep balls to the back post. More times than not his coaches want him to make an attempt on anything in the 6 yard box.

Dubravka had been having a good season, shame the last two weeks have stained it. But plenty of time to recover. Yedlin was getting torn apart on the twitter sphere, but I didn't get to see the game. At least the FK did not sound like it was on him... ouch for NUFC.

I think this bears repeating (is it poor form to quote myself?)...since NUFC itself is in the bottom 12, the most bottom-12 teams they could play in any half-season is 11. Their schedule has been so top heavy they still have 10 of those 11 teams left to play.

Given the team's limitations and injuries, I'm astounded where they're at and my guess is they finish 13th or higher. If Dubravka hadn't made those mistakes they'd be 13th now.

I agree with the consensus here. Yedlin was poor but not awful. One thing I’ve noticed is that his crosses were close but no cigar. If he can tighten that up just a hair, he will take a big step forward for Newcastle. He gets space in their system frequently.

The keeper was weak on the goal, but please take note of the Wolves player’s arms. In the NFL that’s pass interference. Big miss by the ref.

Rafa has done a pretty damn good job all things considered.

Would've been a harsh foul imo. Attacker jumped and got both his arms over the keeper's shoulders/in front of his chest. Didn't look like he was actually touching him though, and if so it was incidental to the jump. Keeper let the ball fall between his hands. He should've caught it, or at least punched it but did neither. Very soft goal, but perhaps the deserved result from what I saw of the game.

since so many are very critical; may I ask, what are some of Yedlin's positives as a player? Besides being insanely fast.
