NUFC's next 3 league games are against Man City, Spurs and Wolves, after that only 2 games against teams in the top 8 for the final 12 games of the season (Arsenal March 30, Liverpool in May)

Yedlin went the distance in the relegation 6 pointer.

Yeah, everyone loves you (and the rest of the team) when you win the relegation derbies...

Rafa could save even the Terriers. It's not cowardice, it's self-preservation.

It immediately did not go well. Yedlin was culpable for the first goal (again)within 45 seconds.

Someone was going to be culpable within the first 5 minutes. May as well have been him

Culpable is strong here. He started out tracking Kun, stayed tight in case he had a second runner, and had no idea what was going on behind him. That goal is on the midfielder who decided that running with his mark was boring and decided it would be more adventurous to track no one

Right, he forgot his behind his head eyes again. Always doing that.

To continue the analysis you can see Yedlin making sure that Kun was covered, picked up his eye and went "oh shit the ginger is about to make a run in", all while Silva sneakily snuck in behind.

Blaming that on Yedlin is blaming someone for not watching his back while getting punched in the face

Yedlin is caught ball watching. He is marking space. His head needs to be on a swivel seeing where the ball is and who is in his area and/or coming into his area.

That's what I'm saying he did - he saw KDB threatening a run. Yedlin saw THREE threaning players, and a 4th player with ball at feet at the top of the box - one of which (KDB) had nothing between him and the net, other than Yedlin. If Yed does turn his head and turn back, that's a sitter for KDB and a very simple pass to make.

No idea why this bothers me so much, but here it us. You see the two players in the box, a 3rd with the ball, and KDP with the wide open space and Yedlin tracking him. There's sneaky Silva seeing Tedlin tracking KDP and making un tracked run in behind him.

You can not tell Yedlin to both check KDB's run AND watch out for runs behind him. Not unless you gave him an extra set of eyes

Yep where is the outside midfielder tracking that run?

Agree. He got caught having to guard two players at the same time. Did he absolve himself from any wrong doing? Nope. But his teammates hung him out to dry.

By the time the pass was made KDB was totally marked by two players. Yedlin is happily sticking in the middle of nothing, has no ideas what's behind him. I guess his neck isn't able to turn and he does need another set of eyes.

Don't forget the 2 attackers he plays onside if he drops to close the angle to space for Silva's run (and keeps Silva onside longer). About 4 other NUFC players share culpability.

That's one of his greatest defensive weakness.
