I always think that our boys have an excellent opportunity to show off another side of America. Hard working, working class guys who (despite making peanuts in the US) testing themselves abroad. And showing that mentality to the kids in the stands. From experience meeting people abroad, and their younger siblings or kids, you as an American either have a mythical status in their eyes.
Come on Yedlin. I need you and your boys to at least draw with Spurs to keep that 3rd spot for my Reds
Pretty impressive stuff from our man: DeAndre Yedlin starts for Newcastle today. 🇺🇸He's the fourth American field player to start 30 games in a Premier League season (Cameron, Dempsey x2, McBride x2).— Paul Carr (@PaulCarr) May 9, 2018
Only 156 to go. Depends on how well he keeps his speed/adapts his game to not rely on in as much. I'd put the over/under on 100 more appearances, but who knows.
So just 5 seasons of being a regular starter and he could reach that. It def seems possible. Though, I kinda would love to see him in Serie A or La Liga.
I always forget how long he was at City. But due to his ACL issues, I think probably had 4 15-25 game seasons. He had almost 90 games, according to wiki, but it was spread out over 3 1/2 seasons I think.
Newcastle are really taking it to Chelsea. If I were Yedlin, I'd try to sneak into the box and get myself a goal to cap off the season.
yes he had constant injury problems. it was too bad, because in his first year at Manchester City, he was performing well. I think at one point halfway through the season he was in the top 5 in the OPTA rankings.
He was always an injury waiting to happen. He missed time in every World Cup he was eligible for except for 1998.
It's pretty funny. We all flood the disaster threads, but NUFC and Yedlin just spanked Chelski from the opening whistle today. The wings in particular were active in the early going. I love watching Chelski get spanked almost as much as I love watching Arsenal get spanked. This is why @Dirt McGirt and I have been diehard NUFC fanatics since the days of Malcolm Macdonald!
I was happy for NUFC fans today after recent seasons...no angst in the final weeks, closing out the season mid table, taking it to Chelsea with a team that was obviously playing freely AND more committed. A good way to enter the summer. Of course their owner seems bent on either drama or incompetence, so we will see how long the good times last.
When DeAndre Yedlin comes home, he drives around in a Rolls Royce https://www.sounderatheart.com/2018/5/23/17387076/deandre-yedlin-rolls-royce
