Newcastle is the only team in the EPL with a Yank who plays regularly that is not in the relegation zone.

Not too thrilled with "Yedders": he's not adding himself to the attack, and needs support constantly to avoid Zaha going around him. CP has been unlucky not to score the tie, the Mags still in front 0-1.

Due to goal difference only. They need all three today or the gravity crocodile will be at the door.

In the second half Yedlin got real and is using his impressive speed to cause trouble after CP tied them (PK, 55', DY not involved). He just got them a corner they wasted. But he's adding himself to the attack and it's impressive how fast he is.

Ball control still not top notch, though. But it must be hard when you move that fast.

Yedlin with some desperate last ditch defending. Commentator says he was caught out of position, but that's bollocks he was covering for his CB's who were out of position and couldnt keep up with Martial.

Anyone else despise the team ManU have created?

Pogba, Sanches, Lukaku...prefer the second team they had to substitute in. Carrick, McTommy something, and Mata. Mou brought in an all twitter team that plays with zero heart or fire. He should have known they are a waste of time.

I don't think he was referring to Yedlin as the one out of position but that Martial caught him out when Yedlin over ean the ball, but then also stated that Yedlin eventually stood Martial up to slow up the play. With Yedlin, it isn't always pretty but his speed and effort makes up for a lot.

these commentator are monkeys. Newcastle is not parking any bus. They are actively attacking their space. They just caught up field. They are attacking.

that pass and run were right down the middle. Since when is that Yedlin's? Unless he was marking Martial, in which case he followed his runner and when the ball arrived, he was in position 20yards from goal. And tellingly for your USMNT excuse makers, he wins his 1 v. 1 challenge.

Yedlin is out there battling, screaming at his defense. He is a key part of this team. He is defending more than attacking. Benitez trusts him. So far, so good. Nice one.

Great game!! Yedlin...he is playing against world class evrytime he hits the pitch. And he has locked up many world class players. Today it was Sanchez again. He has a moment very now and then, but give credit where it's due. Love him. Shelvey!!! Great, always liked him, Liverpool, thought he he was Stevie G's her. Still can bring it. How much was Pogba?

I think he was referring to the RCB as being too far forward as the one out of position which allowed the ball behind him. Martial was off Yedlin's shoulder and Yedlin followed and should have had the initial shot at the pass to Martial but over ran it. But, Yedlin fought his way back and got in front of Martial to slow up the play and keep him from going in clear on goal.

In the first half, Sanches makes a diagonal run from center, Yedlin runs accross with him, gets a foot in that saves a goal. It seems he is the designated last minute emergency speed defense for htis team.

Yedlin had a good game, but the star today was Rafa, outcoaching Mourinho like that. Thanks to this win they have created some distance between them and the relegation line.
