Part of it. Part of it is that a lot of the public buildings seem to be in a state of decay, and part is that there's not much to do after 5pm, except get drunk in a pub. Of course I was there nearly a decade ago, it may have improved but I doubt it.
That seems to be a standard for English existence. #GetDrunkInAPub I've visited all over England multiple times and I get that feeling in Liverpool (though I love Liverpool) and in Birmingham (literally nothing to do).
There’s London and then there’s England. Really two separate societies. What I’ve found in England is that there’s an upper class crust in every region or city but they keep well separate of the rest of the people.
HE was subbed in a minute before Newcastle scored. I am not watching hte match, but I assume Yedlin assisted on his own goal for the score.
Good assumption but he wasn't involved. It was a nice goal by Murphy who was sent through and finished 1v1 vs goalie.
Never ceases to amaze me that teams continue to leave Aguero open in the box. Yedlin did get smoked by some skill from Sane, but Aguero was criminally open at the top of the 6 yard box.
you can point to a lot of things but the bottom line is this: Man City is owned by zillionaires and Newcastle isn't. It is why i don't watch the EPL much. Fair match-ups are not the rule.
Agreed. Especially with the way NBC prioritizes which games to show...I think it was Chelsea/Brighton, Man U/Burnley, and City/Newcastle today. I prefer watching the Bundesliga at this point. At least there the only super mismatch each week is Bayern vs. whomever.
NBC didnt have any choice about showing the games at Brighton or Manchester City today. The Burnley/Man Utd game was a good pick, especially after the game on Boxing Day
More and more, I find myself watching the Bundesliga on Fox. The games are more entertaining and only one team is insurmountable.
Highlights from the City 3-1 win. Yedlin came on in the 66th minute. He is dribbled by Sane in the lead up to the third goal (2:23).
NBD, Sane beat two guys, not just Yedlin to get that cross in and he is going to beat a lot more in his career. I can't fault Yedlin too much. he made the guy work to get his cross off and it isn't his fault there is a guy standing at the top of the six unmarked.
Manquillo, the guy who started the game in Yedlin's place, got abused by de Bruyne and Sane the entire first half. So it's not like he did any better, Manquillo was not only the guy who committed the penalty on Silva but also the guy who failed to tackle de Bruyne and allowed his cross for the first goal.
Lots of NUFC fans were pissed/complaining DY didn't start. But he, of course, also got his share of abuse after Sane schooled him. But really, two team that are more like two different species at this point.
That was a great play. I think the other NUFC defenders thought Sane was caught dead to rights so drifted away from Aguero expecting a loose ball. Then he somehow spins away, megs Yedlin and has a simple and clear look to center to Aguero.
