he has that Geoff Cameron/Steve Cherundolo syndrome. Nobody seems to care that we still have a Yank starting for a mid-table club in the PL.

I care, and I enjoy watching him play. The nucuelous of the US team going forward should be Yedlin and CP.

Yedlin was involved in the buildup on Newcastle's 2nd. Nutmegged a guy close to midfield to get things rolling

Should have received a yellow and possibly red for a flying studs up tackle. Unnecessary. Lucky to only be scolded.

only saw the second half, but that was a fun but ugly game. Had a 10-years-ago EPL hectic feel to it (with slightly more skilled players - dunno if it's just me, but it seems the average player's ability to cushion a long, high pass has increased across the board over the past 10 years.) Stupid (and kind of harsh) PK to N'castle. DY covered a lot of ground but was neither exceptionally awesome or terrible. Neither team really had a lot of silk to their sow's ear. But DY certainly does not look over his head. (agree with above, both teams had a number of nastly challenges including DY getting a talking to for one.)

he's first choice since he's healthy again right?

I recall Benitez is a fan of rotating his squad

Can't find any video of Yedlin's challenge, but here's a picture. Studs up and getting all shin.

He did get a touch to the ball on the challenge, but then followed through high, which made it absolutely cardable. There were a couple of "extra" juicey challenges in this game. Seemed like a bit of bad blood.

If he's anything like me, bet he was playing trying to break stuff.

Ashley has officially/publicly put the club up for sale and wants a deal by Christmas. Let's hope it goes through: Rafa will stick around for longer in the short term, which can only help Yedlin & the Geordies deserve better than this clown running what is still one of England's best clubs.

I think there's a bit of a general hangover across the board after the events in Trinidad. Things will pick up tho....

With Chandler's knee gone, Brooks recovering from injury, Pulisic not looking that awesome, and Cameron going to the dogs with Stoke, Yedlin may well be our best Yank Abroad of late.

Although Fabian is making a come-back of sorts and Danny Williams has been impressive for one game.

Today just had too many games on at the same time. Not all of us have Suyun's Football Central Secret HQ! (On the positive side I did 2 hrs on the stationary bike between Dortmund and the U17's on simultaneous mirror! Imma live forever.)

Kind of wish I'd watched my life-long favorite east England side instead. Dortmund were boring and the US kids were just overmatched.
