Yeah, I wasn't objecting to your objecting. Just cleverly (not really) trying to swing the conversation back over to Yedlin and his club.
Yedlin not in the Newcastle squad today. No chance he comes into USMNT camp. (Though even if he had been he probably still doesn't get the call).
I'd be astonished if he were called up, even if he'd made the Newcastle squad. Fly across the Atlantic to New Jersey to play against Costa Rica, then fly down to Honduras to play in the heat and humidity on a crappy pitch, then fly back to New Jersey before flying back to Newcastle. Bruce knows he should get 4 points from these two games (at least 3), and there are two more games against the group's weakest sides to come after that. It'd be bordering on malpractice to force the issue with a speedster who's just back from a hamstring injury. You could see Klinsmann either doing it, or bitching about it. Bruce is a pro. He'll give Yedlin those extra two weeks to recover and adjust the squad to at least nullify the Ticos and win ugly in Tegucigalpa. Yedlin without his pace will be an ordinary RB for at least a season, possibly for good. Give him time and he'll be a potent weapon in Russia. If he isn't, nobody will blame you.
Arena stated he isn't call Yedlin up for these upcoming NT games. Which tbh is great news for his club situation. He needs to return to health and get back into the mix with Newcastle....Really looking forward to watching him in the PL this season Here's the article- https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/2...a-usmnt-world-cup-qualifying-injury-newcastle
Good news for #NUFC & #USMNT as right back DeAndre Yedlin (@yedlinny) expected to be fit to face Swansea on Sunday. #PLonNBC— Joe Prince-Wright (@JPW_NBCSports) September 8, 2017
read this on another board, I will just copy and paste here ==================== Newcastle's starting LB (Mbemba) got injured during international duty. Likely out a couple of months. Newcastle is very shallow at FB and their best LB replacement is Manquillo, who was starting at RB so far(Yedlin was injured, but they were expected to fight for the spot). Most likely they'll switch Manquillo to LB and start Yedlin at RB
Considering LW is usually one of the two places where the modern 4-3-3 's most dangerous player is positioned, Yedlin could be our most important player. I know this is club talk but lets get real here. Hopefully Yedlin is back in position as the number one going forward for club(relevance) and country.

He made the bench, so he's not injured. He's probably not fully fit yet. He's basically guaranteed a shot with how thin Newcastle is at FB.
Are they really that thin, or is it the stripes? yuckyuckityuck! fwiw: Maquillo got a 7 from the Daily Star (Lascelles MOM 8, Clark 7) Mirror gave Maquillo and Gamez 6's (Lascelles a 9!) Lee Ryder gave him a 7 (Lascelles 9, Clark + Gamez 8) fans also rated Maquillo lowest of 4 backs, but still a decent 6.8 A clean sheet rarely gets the D any unkind words, and Maquillo certainly wasn't poor, but door seems unlikely to be shut on Yedlin by this outing.
He has to beat out one of Gamez or Manquillo. If we're to believe that Manquillo can be moved to LB, maybe Yedlin only needs to beat Gamez playing RB. Certainly not impossible.
Yep. Neither was universally adored or panned for their weekend (not surprising to not be panned in a shut out win.) I'd expect, just from some snippets of the game and general reviews that Yedlin will get a chance to show if he's back soon enough.
Plenty of streams though, excited to see Yedlin get some PL action. Guess Ill have to save watching CCV for another time.
