Nearly a week over the 3 weeks Yedlin was supposed to be out, and he's again not in the 18 today.

Newcastle is not going to risk a setback on Yedlin's hamstring for a cup game, especially considering how thin they are in defense right now. They need him healthy for EPL games. The starting XI for today's game includes almost no regular starters.

i admire when a club rates a Yank high enough not to risk their health.

You don't mess with the hammy...I wouldn't be surprised if they hold him out this week and for the international break...a full tear and he's out for 2 months easy

They can't hold him out for the break. He will play the qualifiers.

Uh, of course they can. They can say he is not fit to play, get into a pissing match with us doctors etc if they wanted.

Getting bitchy with a doctor won't hold him out if he's actually healthy. And Yedlin isn't the type of not play anyway.

Most likely scenario is ussoccer and Newcastle discuss Yedlin's injury status and he is not called in. He has not played weeks and is coming off an injury. I'd be shocked if he was called in to the USMNT and played.

You are over-thinking this. Soccer player are individuals, not a country.

I think Zusi has no business near the US squad. Not yesterday. Not today. Not ever.

    Please get better Dre.

I bet he's on the bench this weekend

He may even end up playing because Manquillo is kinda trash

with the way the club is playing and losing, once he's healthy he'll be starting. they won't have any other choice.

The question is, IMO, is Chandler considering us?

What's the weather forecast in Jersey and San Pedro Sula? If it's moderate temperatures, and US Soccer supplies him some ambient and a nice comfy first class air seat for his widdle bum bum, perhaps he can bothered to give a shit on the field.

Hi folks. This thread is dedicated to Yedlin's club career.

National team discussion goes to USA Men and US Men News and Analysis.

    Thanks.

True. But, in this case, I think it is possible that NC may be pleased with the international break as an opportunity for Yedlin to get more game time under his belt. If they think he is fit and healed, I think the two international games come at a good time for them to get a player back up to game speed without it being during a "real" (in their eyes) match.

I wasn't objecting to the conversation about Yedlin going on the break. It was the slide into conversations about who would replace him and why we do/don't like who'd replace him that I was calling a halt to. Venting about the commitment or lack thereof perceived in a player not named Yedlin needs to happen in the national team specific forums.

I hope Dre isn't hoppin' on any planes going eastward over the next few weeks. Don't mess with them hammys. Let the man heal up and get back to 90 mins fitness.
