He did not get the ball much but wooten has a great touch imo. Also its easy to tell he is a natural near the box. His game elevates near the goal which is why he's always consistent scorer in the lower divisions.
We all know about Boyd and Wooten's deal but what is George's deal with a possible first team call up?
George gets injured everytime he's about to make the jump to first team. Let's hope he stays fit this time
Lets hope not. The kid has a big upside because he is a very intelligent player. Before his injury he was super-fast and he would have been playing some games in the Bundesliga by now as a 19 year old. He still has good speed but if he stays away from injury i think he can make it to Bundesliga soon because he reads the game on a strong level.
http://www.abendzeitung-nuernberg.d...rg/Artikel/1168100/Gehen-unseren-eigenen-Weg/ George doesn't play a role in Nürnberg atm. He will probably be loaned out to a 2nd or 3rd division team. Interesting to read the discussions on Nürnberg message boards. According to quite a few members, George apparently has attitude problems. http://www.glubbforum.de/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=7276&start=75
Giving a glance at the forum, the problems seem to be that he is a hothead on the field to other players and referees. And the fact the club wants loan him out instead of releasing/selling him I guess means they still think he has potential.
Jann George has been loaned to FK Senica in Slovakia for the 2012/13 season. It is the last year of his contract with 1.Nurnberg FK Senica finished in 4th place last season in the Slovakian Super Liga and will play in the 2012/12 Europa League qualifiers http://www.yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=content&id=9175
I know virtually nothing about the Slovak league aside from knowing the names of Slovan Bratislava and MSK Zilina. But one who have to assume this is a good move for a young player looking for playing time. The Senica press officer highlighted it's a loan for one year only. so hopefully this loan can be the entryway to FCN's first team for Jann. BTW, it looks like Senica has a little CONCACAF flavor boasting a Panamanian and a Costa Rican.
Nürnberg consider the Czech Republic and Slovakia as their backyard and natural scouting ground. They have a long history with Slovakian and Czech players, I guess they have locals working for them. A loan of a German/American player to Slovakia might be unusual at first glance, but they will keep an eye on him.
Nah, I thought of him but he played for HNK Rijeka in Croatia. EDIT: I looked it up; I think I remember it from Europa League this year when they played against RB Salzburg with Eddie Gustaffsson.
Will John had a very brief stint at Zilina. Not the same club, but it's also in Slovakia and the name has a similar cadence.
Interesting. I'd think that a loan in the last year of a players' contract would be an audition to sell, but perhaps it's an audition for higher things at Nurnberg.
