They are going for an American keeper as their starter four cycles in a row. Gonna try to make it five next cycle as well with Holguin, Ochoa, Cervantes (if he's Mex-Am), etc lol. Wouldn't be surprised if they took a run at Eric Lopez later this cycle, if he's Mex-Am.
This '03 has been one of the most consistently-starting GKs for his age group in the USSDA, has recently been at a USBNT camp, and is probably Mexican-American. Mexico is waiting to pounce for their 2023 U20 cycle to make it six in a row. http://albn.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=1647611&player=84408687
I'm not 100% positive, but I believe the guy on the left in both of these photos is Brandon Servania. New members of the Costa Rican national team 🇨🇷 pic.twitter.com/GZXODueVTm— Dan-ee 🧪😈 (@danny_evans0) July 14, 2017
Here's a report on what might be that team, but which doesn't include a roster (from the CR Fed site). http://www.fedefutbol.com/2017/08/01/arranca-seleccion-miras-mundial-juvenil-2019/
Thats interesting, but also makes little sense. Has there even been any indication that he's eligible for Costa Rica, and why is he joining Costa Rica so early in the cycle when he should stand some chance to play for the US?
While we're on the subject, the guy whose twitter that is seems to be FCD '99 Daniel Evans, who was born in Texas. https://www.fcdallas.com/players/daniel-evans As to why, why not? The U20 cycle hasn't even started and accepting camp invites binds you in no way. School's out for summer. It's the way of the world these days.
This was taken when the Costa Rican national team was training for a Gold Cup match at Toyota Stadium against French Guiana. Its the day before. I think a bunch of the FC Dallas kids got the opportunity to go out there and be part of a scrimmage or something. So yes, they were members of the Costa Rican national team for the day Nothing to see here.

This one doesn't 100% make sense, but I'll put him here as reference if he does turn out to have gotten his US citizenship: http://www.bostoncityfc.com/roster/ralph-angrand Earlier this month Boston City FC’s Ralph Angrand had a chance to play with Haiti’s Olympic Team, and the opportunity to represent his home country was one which Angrand cherished. “It was an unforgettable moment when I got the call,” Angrand said. ‘To practice, play, and start for (Haiti)… it was the best feeling in my career yet.” Angrand’s start with the Haiti Olympic Team ended in a 2-2 draw with Boston University on September 3rd. The defender is now hoping to move up to the U-23 squad and someday, a chance with the senior national team. He has been in the US since 2008. But he's a '93 according to his club and he's already 24 and the Olympics aren't for 3 more years. http://www.npsl.com/news_article/show/839675?referrer_id=2168389-news
It is indeed confusing, but BU's site did bill the opponent as "the Haiti National Olympic Team." BOSTON - Both seniors Esen Harris and Eric Mubang found the back of the net to help the Boston University men's soccer team post a 2-2 draw against the Haiti National Olympic Team in front of 2,311 fans on a rainy Sunday evening at the 11th-annual Terrier Tailgate. http://www.goterriers.com/news/2017...nal-olympic-team-2-2-at-terrier-tailgate.aspx Other players listed in the box score are also too old for the upcoming U23s. Perhaps it's a group of people playing as the LAST Haiti Olympic team. Or, really, maybe it's just some kind of national "B" squad. http://goterriers.com/boxscore.aspx?id=7028&path=msoc
I will be convening the US Men's Olympic team on Saturday at Dilboy Field. 9 a.m. sharp. BYO boots. Age not an obstacle.
Emile Van Gheem update: Emile made it to the final of the PJO where the 20 best players from each province in Belgium (there are 10 provinces in Belgium) play against each other in the national training facility in Tubize. This is part of the scouting mechanism for the Belgian Youth National Team. Emile is also taking technical training in Genk. P.S. He is half Belgian/half American. Hopefully soon he will be able to show his abilities to the US ;-)!
