Final Mexico U17 camp before naming the roster for World Cup qualifying. Alvarez and Munoz included, but not Letayf.

According to one reporter's tweet, this also serves as Mexico's 25-man provisional roster for the 20-man final roster for WCQ, so apparently Letayf (and others) won't be on Mexico's U17 qualifying squad.

Anything's possible, but it seems hard to believe any player anywhere would turn down a U17 callup unless they'd already been called up by someone else.

That, combined with Nigerian soccer media's fast and loose approach to truth in journalism, makes me doubt the information.

The call are from the previous week, but it is worth highlighting 2 Americans in the call of Guatemala U17.
Jose Ortega '03 (Bethesda SC). He was in the USA U14 camp a few years ago. It has a pretty decent goal average.
Edward Castro '03 (LA Galaxy). So far this year has not played, although last season with the U15 team apparently did it in a good way.
It is worth remembering that Guatemala is in our group.

They are a bunch of hypocrites.

Monterrey asked Sarachan not to call Gonzalez into a USMNT camp for the Portugal friendly because they needed him for a rescheduled game. They didn't need another starter, Cesar Montes, as much because his call up was to the Mexican National Team. There was no statement from the Mexican National Team about those antics that I think probably played a big part in Gonzalez switching to Mexico.

    Bethesda SC's youth call ups:

    Ortega has already been mentioned.
Tabora is the son of the Honduran ambassador to the US, so we can forget about him for now.

Flores and Diaz are listed as US citizens:

not posted here but 01-Leon Flach played for Germany U18 his 1st game for Germany. Game was like B/C squad.

seems like Flach was very honored to play for Germany and to wear the jersey and can't wait for his next call up. Was very excited when he got the call.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that that seems like exactly the kind of thing you might expect to hear from someone who accepts a national team callup!

well he seemed to have been waiting for call up for awhile now. As he makes plenty of camps but no call ups. But finally got his 1st call up in April 2019.

could be wrong but from his own words, that sounds more like someone finally getting his desired call up.

A source close to him confirmed that Portugal U17 keeper Sergio Dutra Alves, part of the Nike International Friendlies-winning squad in Florida, was born in Los Angeles.

    Snip:

For 13-year-old Kevin Diaz of Hagerstown, playing the sport of soccer seemed to come naturally.

When he first kicked a ball at age 4, he instantly fell in love with the sport.

Also on the T&T roster, the following US-based players:

Curtis De Leon (North Carolina FC)

Jerrell Nixon (Concorde Fire) US citizen confirmed

    Ira Sayeed (Indy Premier)

Ajani Fortune (Atlanta United) US citizen confirmed

Not that anyone was suggesting this, but I wondered if he might be related to Nick De Leon, since his dad Leon was a T&T international. I think the answer is probably no, or at least they aren't brothers.

Efra played a good game. It is true that he played against a Jamaican team without much talent, but the boy really has a lot talent and personality. His left foot is prodigious.

    Leroy, not Leon. My bad.
