I know what you are saying and agree but has he really expressed interest in them? Sounded more like just keeping his options open right now.
Credit to @Zak1FCK for the spot: '99 German-American right back Corey Anton made his debut for Germany U18. He was at a US U18 camp in early 2016. Anton, Sidney Friede, Timothy Tillman, Maurice Malone, and Jalen Hawkins are among the German-Americans who have had recent involvement with DFB youth teams. (Gedion Zelalem, Toni Suddoth, Kevin Lankford, and Malik Tillman are German-Americans with recent involvement in US youth teams.) http://fck.de/de/1-fc-kaiserslauter...nf-nachwuchsteufel-auf-laenderspielreise.html DFB profile: http://datencenter.dfb.de/profil/356588?historize_title=U+18-Nationalmannschaft&historize_url= US Soccer profile: http://www.ussoccer.com/players/2016/01/22/13/45/corey-anton#tab-1

A reminder that comments in his YA thread indicate he may be having some problems getting his US passport, reminiscent of the kind Boyd and Goetz have had.
I haven't read his thread but it seems very sketchy as to how he is eligible for a US passport so this makes sense.
It may be difficult for him to obtain, but he's eligible by virtue of having an American father. That, at least, seems pretty straightforward.
True but he wasn't born in the US so that is a stickler as he would have needed to spend some years in the US I thought.
Not Corey. His *father* would have had to have spent at least 5 years in the US prior to Corey's birth to pass on citizenship to Corey automatically. You can be a US citizen and never set foot in the country (but then your children wouldn't be citizens at birth). FIFA does have a residency clause, but only if none of the player, his parents nor his grandparents was born in the country.
The below is referring to Malik Tillman ('02), brother of Timothy. How many German Americans is that who have played for German youth teams within the last year or so? Tillman (2), Hawkins, Malone, Anton, Berry. Thats six of them. This could be the next generation of players like Jones, Johnson, Brooks, Chandler, Williams, Boyd, etc.

Worth noting that some of those guys got their start with the U.S. as youth players, while others came over as adults (Jones having actually appeared in matches for Germany's senior team). So even if some are destined to play for us, the wait may be a while -- and not just because they're young.

A California-born player named Jesus Sahagun appears to play for Malaga CF in Spain and has a recent callup to Venezuela U17: http://www.liderendeportes.com/noticias/futbol/jesus-sahagun-tiene-su-corazon-vinotinto.aspx http://www.noticias.colegiomit.com/en/a-mit-student-at-the-venezuelan-soccer-team/ http://www.eluniversal.com/noticias/deportes/vinotinto-sub-prepara-para-sudamericano-chile_637058 Unclear whether this is the same Jesus Sahagun whose hometown is Miami, appears to play for Weston FC, and was at a recent US U17 camp.
