Also getting some playing time: Zach Herivaux continued to emerge as an option for Haiti, coming on in the 55th minute of their 1-0 win over the United Arab Emirates. Initially the Haitians had been scheduled to face both Saudi Arabia and Equatorial Guinea, but that plan was changed in recent weeks. https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/po...t-revs-represent-their-countries-during-break

'98 born Elvir Ibisevic is in Bosnia's squad for their upcoming friendlies against the US and Mexico. Looks like he's been called up for the US U17 team at some point.
Started today, went 90, for Scanzorosciate in Italy Serie D (Group B) in a 1 - 0 loss at Trento. (Has 6 goals so far this season)
He got a few late minutes in his first cap for Bosnia: BIH: 1-Ibrahim Šehić; 2-Almir Bekić, 5-Marko Mihojević, 6-Daniel Graovac, 7-Darko Todorović; 8-Tomislav Tomić (3-Marijan Ćavar, 46), 10-Haris Medunjanin (capt.)(18-Dino Beširević, 72), 15-Elvis Sarić (13-Nemanja Bilbija, 80); 17-Mersudin Ahmetović (9-Elvir Koljić, 46), 19-Luka Menalo (4-Elvir Ibisević, 83), 20-Goran Zakarić (14-Ognjen Todorović, 68) Substitutes: 11-Stjepan Lončar, 16-Adnan Šećerović, 12-Kenan Pirić Head coach: Robert Prosinečki
Buenos días! Mexico defeated Bosnia 1-0 last night in San Antonio to kickstart 2018. Jonathan Gonzalez had a strong debut and Carlos Vela played three positions. Here are some thoughts via @si_soccer https://t.co/HzYSeTTm3m— Luis Miguel Echegaray (@lmechegaray) February 1, 2018
I know this may not be a popular opinion on BS, but this tweet from Kartik really sums up my feelings on the JoGo situation right now: As Americans we should be proud of a homegrown player player like Jonathan Gonzalez. Let the hyper-nationalists obsesses over his national team choice. He's as much an American as any one suiting up for the #USMNT & all American should take pride in his accomplishments. #ElTri— Kartik Krishnaiyer 🇺🇦🌻⚽️ (@kkfla737) February 1, 2018
Homegrown? He went/relocated to Liga MX academy when he was 14... How does Kartik take that as an "Homegrown" is beyond my comprehension.
Cause his development from 4 to 14 was longer than 14-20? I don't think we should all sing kumbayah but I do think the US deserves some recognition in his development (if nothing more than that American drive to succeed).
I'm curious why this is in this thread. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with another NT or NT player.
This may be a stretch, but it's been quiet in this thread (and he does have one cap): Two days into training, center back Amro Tarek is aiming to make an instant impact for Orlando City during the 2018 Major League Soccer season. Tarek, 25, was acquired by the Lions on a one-year loan from Egyptian side Wadi Delga FC. His move, though, comes at a pivotal moment, with Orlando City having only two center backs prior to his arrival in Jonathan Spector and José Aja. “My personal goals are to be an important [player] in the team. … To be a starter and to make the team for my national team to play in the World Cup,” Tarek said Wednesday. https://www.prosoccerusa.com/orland...k-amro-tarek-eager-quickly-make-impact-lions/
Justin Meram talks about his experiences with the Iraqi NT: https://www.theplayerstribune.com/justin-meram-why-i-play-for-iraq/
It's a good piece. This is really quite something: And I can’t ignore that while playing in MLS I’ve had a few fans of other teams call me a “smelly terrorist” and shout racial slurs at me during games. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/justin-meram-why-i-play-for-iraq/
Dude is American as apple pie and gets this sh*t...unacceptable. I wonder if Beitashour or Saad experienced the same thing? If so those people need to be banished from the stands.
