The FHF released the official 21 man squad for the matches against Nicaragua. Frantzdy Pierrot was added, the rest of the squad is the same.[IMG]

Derrick Etienne entered the match in the 55th.

This was a weird one. Haiti led 3-1 in aggregate in the 85th minute and ended up losing the series 4-3. One player bagged a hat trick in that time span and finished the night with a red card.

Eriq Zavaleta is considering El Salvador:

    (in Spanish) http://www.elsalvador.com/deportes/futbol/332047/se-cayo-la-opcion-zavaleta-para-la-selecta/

In a conversation with journalist Steve Gennaro of the ALL IN Sports Talk radio show , Zavaleta explained Sunday 2 April that "a few years ago (2015) it was the first time I was called to a match against Argentina, with the previous coach Roca), but due to passport reasons I had not been able to go. This year (and already in 2017) I had contact with the new coach (Lara) and with the federation, I had agreed to go to a camp (to El Salvador) last week, to visit some family and make the camp towards the Gold Cup ", commented , Referring to the last two friendlies of the Selecta, against Olimpia and Curacao.

"But at the last minute I decided not to go," added Zavaleta. "I felt that out of respect for his federation and his team, because I'm not ready to take this commitment to the Gold Cup, and the preparation camp was for that. And I would be taking the chance of someone else to go and prepare for the Gold Cup, " he said.

Zavaleta did not hide that his decision is born, also, because he does not want to close the door to a call of Bruce Arena to the selection of the United States, that fights to classify to Russia 2018.

"There are several reasons I considered. It would be a long time without being in Toronto FC (if I played the Gold Cup with El Salvador), possibly I would miss many games. And I do believe that I am playing at a level, and if I continue to improve, in which a call from the United States team is not a ridiculous thought. We will see how it continues, I have those options open at the moment, "he explained.

He would have to file a one-time switch, as he represented the US at the U17 World Cup.

last week not only did the world cup qualifiers get back into action, but so did the qualifiers for Asian Cup 2019... while the remaining 12 teams in Asian WC qualifying have all qualified directly for AFC 2019, the remaining teams are all competing in a round robin / playoff format to take the final 12 places. One team I was looking forward to seeing was Guam, as they were surprisingly competitive in their WC qualifying group beating India and Tajikistan + tying Oman at home. And they qualified directly to the final stage given they were the best 4th placed team from the semi-final round stage of WC qualifying... however, I'm disappointed to see they withdrew form the tournament due to financial constraints. With 24 teams qualifiying to the Asian Cup, Guam had a decent shot of actually making it... I'm assuming their side is packed, if not completely filled with US citizens no? And would have been cool to see the US flag and national anthem played at the Asian Cup proper in the UAE in two years time. Isn't that what Guam use? Too bad about the withdrawal.
