George made the most of his season in the NASL, ending up second on the Armada in minutes after never really being able to crack the lineup as a regular with the Crew. Pretty impressive that he's getting starts in the Hex. I remember watching him a bit in college and thinking he had obvious potential -- turns 27 this coming January, so he's gotta make his chances count at this point. Are we 100% certain he's a Yank? Wiki says he's only got a green card, and I found an old profile that suggests his citizenship status limited him to ODP ball as a teen. I've thought he was a citizen for a while now, but couldn't quickly find confirmation and can't remember offhand why I thought this. He was born in T&T.
Dang, if only that information were somewhere else in this thread... http://www.socawarriors.net/foreign...ing-september-to-remember.html?fb_ref=Default
It's been a wonky site ever since they announced they won't be using the "Soca Warriors" name anymore because of a lawsuit. It loaded for me, but was very slow. If you see Kevan George within the next few days, give him a pass if he seems a little tired. After all, the Crew defensive midfielder has spent time in three countries on two continents in the past 18 days while splitting time with the club and the Trinidad & Tobago national team. Oh, and he also earned his American citizenship Tuesday, giving him dual citizenship between the countries. He flew back to Columbus with the club and became a citizen days later. Crew midfielder Tony Tchani, one of George’s closest friends on the team, became an American citizen during the offseason and said the decision has made his life easier.
