Martha Thomas being called into Scotland's WNT for possible cap-tying match: Former Charlotte women's soccer standout Martha Thomas has been called to the Scotland National Team for the upcoming UEFA Women's Euro Qualifier, taking place in two weeks. She will join head coach Shelley Kerr's team for its match with Albania. The call-up comes after Thomas trained with the Scottish National Team after a recent international break from her current squad, West Ham United, in England. She has scored in each of her two matches with the pro side. Thomas' first international experience comes after she was called to the United States U23 roster last March for a three-game series in Portland, Oregon. https://charlotte49ers.com/news/201...-thomas-called-to-scottish-national-team.aspx
Looks like she isn't a US citizen: Thomas is a former United States youth international, having represented the country at the U23 level in 2019.[4] She has not yet acquired American citizenship, however, making her ineligible to represent the senior team.[2] Thomas grew up in Dorset but moved to Florida with her family when she was six and lived in America until joining Le Havre last year. She has represented the United States at Under-23 level but is eligible to play for England and also Scotland through her mother. Playing for the US senior side could be another option if she is granted American citizenship. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...al-decision-after-dream-move-to-a4247401.html Living overseas at past the age of 18 would make the citizenship process difficult, depending on when she got her Green Card.

How do the teams find the nationality of all these players? Is there a place where this info is stored or do they just scout matches and ask around? Or do the players register themselves with these various national teams?
