From Virginia Tech: Katie Yensen, a graduating senior from Falls Church, Virginia, has just completed her first season overseas with FCF Rapid Lugano of Lugano, Switzerland, which plays in the Serie A. Kelsey Loupee, a graduating senior from Littleton, Colorado, is just now beginning her time with KR- Knattspyrnufelag Reykjavikur in Reykjavik, Iceland, which plays in the Pepsi League First Division.
Mexico is announcing a new women's league: http://www.espn.com.mx/news/story/_/id/2376380 (in Spanish) Should generate some opportunities for Mexican-American players, at least.
Nevermind... Got more info about Mexican league: it's an amateur league for U-13 and U-16 players with 15 or16 teams involved across Mexico.— Pamela Del Olmo (@pndom) May 18, 2015
The US U23s called up a squad for a tournament. The USA's 22-player roster features 19 college players in addition to three current professionals, all whom play outside the United States: Daphne Corboz (Manchester City), Chioma Ubogagu (Arsenal) and Kate Stengel (Bayern Munich). Good to see Ubogagu in the US ranks again, but wasn't aware of Corboz. She finished up her eligibility at Georgetown in the fall. Dual French citizen. She isn't listed on the MCFC roster, but GU says she will sign in the summer.
Was Ubogagu the one that was called in to a youth squad with England recently or was that someone else?
That's Satara Murray. With Ubogagu having both English & Nigerian eligibility to go with US citizenship, wasn't sure we would see her back considering the US depth.
Looks like Renae Cuellar will be playing in South Korea after the World Cup per @futfemenilmx. http://t.co/52I5Q47GeZ— Jennifer Gordon (@jgordon0319) May 25, 2015
In an article that goes out of its way to say almost nothing, T&T is kicking off their two month long Women's Premier League soon. According to a release yesterday, players from the USA, Venezuela, Canada, St. Kitts/Nevis and the US Virgin Islands touched down at Piarco over the weekend... http://www.socawarriors.net/tat-wom...rs-begin-arriving-for-women-s-pro-league.html No players are mentioned by name, but there will be a combine and draft to divvy up the players to 6 teams. Okay, I take it back... one player is mentioned: USVI midfielder Jessica Adams
