Equalizer names Spencer player of the week:

Player of the Week—Jasmyne Spencer (Melbourne City)

The Seattle Reign loanee American forward scored the first ever hat-trick for Melbourne City in her second game with the three time reigning W-League champions in a 3-1 victory over the perennial playoff side Sydney FC on November 1. She now has 15 goals in 39 games in the W-League in four seasons, with three different clubs. She used a creative back heel while dribbling towards the goal to give herself a little more space before firing home her first goal. She emphatically helped City put their 2-1 loss to Canberra in Week 1 behind them.

    Plus a Carson Pickett interview:

    Equalizer's recap of W-League action;

    https://equalizersoccer.com/2018/11/21/w-league-week-3-review/

Goal of the Week—Rachel Hill—Perth Glory

Rachel Hill (Orlando Pride) scored two goals and added one assist in Perth Glory’s 3-0 home win over the Western Sydney Wanderers on November 17th, but it was her team’s third goal in the 58th minute from the top of the box with a high chip that fell in off the crossbar that was top class. Hill is tied with Alyssa Mautz (Chicago Red Stars) for the team lead in scoring, with each having scored twice this season.

Save of the Week—Britt Eckerstrom—Newcastle Jets

Newcastle Jets won their first match of the 2018 season against Canberra United at home on November 17th from Courtnee Vine’s first half injury time marvelous dipping, swerving ball off of the outside of her right foot from near the top right edge of the penalty box, but Eckerstrom (Portland Thorns) was called upon to preserve her side the three points, none more important than a save from a 30 yard plus effort by Paige Nielsen with 13 minutes left. Nielsen played at UNC and a few matches for the Seattle Reign in 2016 before playing in Cyprus, South Korea and now Australia.

Import of the Week—Veronica Latsko—Adelaide United

Veronica Latsko stole the thunder from Yuki Nagasato’s W-League debut, scoring the winner in the 51st minute of a 1-0 Adelaide road win against the Brisbane Roar on November 18th. Latsko, a rookie midfielder for the Houston Dash last season who had 4 goals and 2 assists in 21 matches after playing for the University of Virginia, scored the first goal of the season for the undefeated Reds. NWSL loanees Nagasato (Chicago Red Stars), Chioma Ubogagu (Orlando Pride), Carson Pickett (Orlando Pride) and Celeste Boureille (Portland Thorns) threatened often for the Roar, who had 20 shots (5 on target) in total.

    Sydney FC 5-1 Brisbane Roar

McCaskill, Colaprico, Huerta and Bledsoe all went 90. Sounds like an assist for McCaskill:

Ubogagu, Pickett and Poureille all went 90.

    Newcastle 1-3 Melbourne City

Stengel, Eckerstrom, Smith all went 90. Stengel scored.

Barnes, Williams went 90. Spencer out in 89th. Spencer scored.

    Western Sydney 2-2 Canberra

LoBonta out in the 58th. Miramontez went 90.

    Nielsen went 90.

    Perth 2-2 Adelaide

Brooks and Latsko went 90. Latsko scored 2 goals.

Naughton, Stanton & Hill went 90. Mautz double yellow in 58th.
