I've seen it written a couple places already that it's a ruptured Achilles. We better find some money for January.
Hahha would be funny if this means we got Podolski though. Horrendous news though. We have 2 "fit" strikers, and Saha and Vic are just also nursing injuries... 4-5-1 here we come again =/
This doesn't look good for us..2 strikers for the season. But could this prompt potential moves during the transfer window?
Saha looks like he will only be out for a game or two. Vaughan will be back in January. Lets bring back Dunc. The future's bright, the future's blue!
The only positive I can see from this is from Vic's standpoint. Its obvious (to me at least) thats hes improved mightily this year. He still isn't capable (I think) of leading the line, of course, but then again, he's never had the chance to. Maybe this is his chance now and hopefully he'll grab it and make him into a monster of a player. Or he could just fail. I see this as a potential sink or swim moment for Big Vic. But I think we've got to support him, who else are we going to thrust in? Cahill as lone striker??? VICTOR ANICHEBE, DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH! VICTOR ANICHEBE, DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH!!
Yak done for the season Vaughan done for the season Saha out for up to 3 weeks That leaves Vic We dont have a penny to rub together after Moyes overspent on Fellaini Well end up loaning Shola Ameobi from Newcastle.
i'm not a huge 100% sold on the yak fan. saying that, I'm very upset and feel bad for him. that's not a good thing for any one. so what if (and it's taken me a few days to work around this in my head) we play vic up front, no doubt. add cahill as a 2nd striker/withdrawn. right behind him is fellaini, have arteta and ossie (or try baines, who seems to like playing the wings and made some good runs up from the back, but failed to return to d quick enough IMO), then put castillo behind fellaini, in front of jags, lescott, yobo and nev. Both cahill and fellaini want to play the attacking option, so why not let them, give cahill a more up front role and fellaini a mid back and forth role. castillo, from what we saw of him and what we know of him, can step into dmid, and fellaini can drop back to help out if necessary. I think having him between fellaini and the defenders adds another layer to our defense and also gives fellaini/cahill cover to go forwards. I really do feel bad for Yak, he has produced for us... if he didn't go down in the box with minimal pushing I'd be all for him, but we have to look forwards. with no foreseeable replacement... anyone know about academy fwds that are doing well? EDIT: I'm so dumb... i forgot about peanut!!!!! scrap those two and add peanut!!! that'll make it hot!
Vaughan isn't done for the season. Although, knowing him, he'll break his legs while on the verge of another comeback
I like this idea of his better: Secretly praying Everton and Villarreal agree on a loan deal to send Jozy Altidore to England?
I take that back 3 months hell be out for. Moyes wont exactly rush him back as he dosent trust him and klnows hes not dependable. I dont count him as a first team striker because he is constantly injured and i can see after this season Moyes will loan him out to a championship club with a view to a permanent move. As for any youth strikers that couls make the step up i would say probabily not. Lukas Jutkiewicz wont be capable of playing 45mins of prem football. Baxter is too young to be considering a first teamer even if we are desperate. Agard is an unknown quantity really, ive heard good things about him in the reserves but i think he rates Baxter higher than him. As fior Heskey we carnt afford the 70k a week he wants. I think he might go for Howard Neville Yobo Jagielka Lescott Arteta Fellaini Osman Pienaar Cahill Anichebe
