XFL relaunch to include a Washington franchise at Audi Field Will share the stadium with D.C. United for at least part of the year. https://wapo.st/2Pbzf9B Ugh.
The Alliance of American Football (another new league) is set to open in February 2019. In about 3 months!! Even if they partner with CBS, I don't think this one will last very long, nor the XFL.
So, does He Hate Me make a comback? Vince McMahon epitomizes all that has gone wrong with this country in the last 50 years. A roided up, huckster who doesn't give two shits about anyone but himself. What a ********ing waste of skin.
Someone should ask Pablo if Rooney's contract precludes him from playing on a field torn up by second rate concussion ball
That's an indoor/arena league now. Also, the L is now for Legends. There was an announced Washington team years ago that never actually played. That's the kind of thing that could fill a few dates in the new Sports and Entertainment Arena.
Agreed. But . . . it'll last at least a couple of years, neatly coinciding with Wayner's contract. All of you who saw Wayne Rooney play on a pristine AF pitch in 2018, savor those memories. One way or another, that may never happen again.
My mind is both boggled and not that after more than 20 years of mgmt and fans complaining about pointy-ball lines on the field and "if only we had our own field-/when we have our own field- this would/will never happen" and then as soon as we get a stadium we control its barely at the drop of a hat we are the ones painting the pointy-ball lines on the field. is it too late to cancel my automatic renewal....?!
Granted, I was watching the games on TV from across the country, but the pitch looked far from pristine. It always looked like there was standing water from the sprinklers for the first 20 minutes of each half.
They fixed that a few games in. They "raked" the field with PVC pipes which led to some interesting chants.
There was. Point taken, but if given a choice, I'll take embarrassing areas of standing water over a ripped-up pitch any day of the week and twice on gamedays.
Based on the second half of the Steelers/Chargers game, I'mma start an unsourced rumor that McMahon's financing the XFL by betting large sums on the underdog and paying off refs to make it happen. Having lived through high school science, I feel qualified to say conspiracy theories are the best theories. That's how I feel, and my gut is, you know, smarter than anyone else's brain. But seriously, the officiating in that game had WWF written all over it.
