"Silver" accounts are free. IIRC, you can do just about everything except play games online. Some content is held back until later, I think, but most stuff you can still do.
Yup, I finally got around to subscribing to netflix once that option became available. I haven't tried out anything in HD yet but the movies I've streamed in standard definition looks fine to me. I believe the first time you sign up for a silver account your given one month free of the Gold service.
Streaming in HD looks nice, provided you have a decent download speed. I watched the entire 1st and 2nd seasons of 30 Rock and it was in HD and looked really good.
If anybody is looking for some MS points or gold subscription cards and have a Circuit City near them that's closing might want to stop there. The one near me was selling them with a 30% discount. I scored 3200 points for $29.

I'd like to lobby for a new way of posting. Or perhaps a new thread. Nothing but gamertags in the new thread and each new post has to quote the previous post. That way, someone could just jump in and see who is new, and add their gamertags as opposed to going through a bunch of posts. socawarrior83
