Alright! If only it hadn't taken us 70+ minutes to find our goal-scoring boots!
    Sick goal!

Morgan made that CR player pay for a late challenge.

Boxx out. Does that mean Averbuch gets to move middle, finally?

73' 3-0 USA free kick from 26m left post (~5 mowed stripes). #4 Yael Averbuch blasts a rising golazo to 3/4 right just under the crossbar, and replacement keeper #18 Tapia misses it with the only hand she could get up that high.

Good call Pia - HAO for Boxxy. However it would have probably been more beneficial an hour ago! Now we'll rip up the flanks!

Beautiful goal? It was ridiculous goalkeeping. She shot it right at her.

I think it's about time for the PK makeup call. (I didn't really type that, it was my evil twin).

Great passing build up for that goal. Hey, look at that, Averbuch can distribute from the middle...

Yael's goal looked like it deflected off of CRC.

really good ball to her from Lilly (after a really good ball to her from Yael after some passing) and HAO did well w/ her speed move + looking up & making the good pass.

    Alex Morgan on the tap-in.

Okay, time to start thinking next game...who will it be Canada or Mexico?

Personally, either could give us trouble if we play like the 1st half of this game.

let's just leave "amy whinebah" on the sideline. I'm sure team mentality/outlook changes when her whineing, dominating behind is off the field.

That was a great goal. Yael with a fantastic cross field pass to Lilly. Likewise from Lilly, cutting inside and crossing over to the right for O'Reilly. Costa Rica clearly not familiar with the classic Heather-O'Reilly-cut-to-the-endline move, because she does exactly that, and crosses into the mass of bodies in the middle. Morgan does well to keep her balance and stab it home. Rather comical defending, though. Somebody should have cleared it.

Did the commentator just say he loves Alex Morgan? Te amo?

81' 4-0 #9 Heather O'Reilly sprint-burns 1-v-1 at 12m box right, turns corner deep, crosses to 6m right post. Comedy: #5 Alex Morgan, darting in to challenge the defensive clearance, does a 360 pirouette and makes herself big -- and the defender's clearance goes 0.5m, hits spinning-Morgan's back foot, and follows her home -- into the box to 4m right post! Morgan stops obliviously, and the ball stops between her feet because it loves her. Morgan looks around for the ball, does a double-take (so do about six defenders, and #18 Tapia), stutters her feet, and squeezes off a shot just as the pocket collapses -- under everybody, and rolls over the line at a flat angle. Morgan: I meant to do that --

You're absolutely right - Nice to finally see some connecting passes. Against GUA we were stringing passes together all night, tonight it's been far too disjointed for me!

Very happy to see Lil getting *almost* a full game in too!

Lilly will a very nice ball into Morgan's run. Morgan made a good run & put the ball back like you're supposed to there...

iirc, the announcers and pretty much all of Chile fell in love w/ Morgan during the 2008 U20WWC
