Though I haven't seen any of Argentina's games, at least on paper they seem to have very much improved compared to WC 2003.

So they seem. Being Argentina second to Brazil in men's soccer, it should not take them long to become a powerhouse in women as well. I think they may pull a few surprises in China, but it may still be a bit too early for them to be fully established. Overall it would be nice to see two serious contenders coming off South America.

Today Germany trashed Switzerland in a European Championship qualifier 7-0. Goals were scored by Garefrekes (3), Behringer (2) Prinz and Smisek.

Yes, but that was barzil without Marta. It do make a lot of difference.

Interesting observation. Have you read the controversy about Marta in the thread Is Brazil Overrated.

It's an amazing list of games "mcruic" put on this thread, the only thing I disagree with, is that all games are supoused to be NT's against NT's and there is one showing Argentina against a local Spanish team that should not be listed.

True that. I still find it hysterical, esp. Prinz hitting the post twice.

To all the Basques in the world, the Basque Selection IS a national team. Basques are completely different ethnically and linguistically from Spaniards, and deserve to have their own country. So, this, to Basques is much more than a regional selection, and you will see Basque national flags at their matches, not Spanish.

It's a shame the Scotts, English, N. Irish, and Welsh can have their own and the Basques and Catalonians can't in FIFA's eyes.

As long as the UN, EU, FIFA or any other international organization recognized Spain as one state (and one National Association), I don’t think the Basques should appeared in any list of Football NT, just like Chechnya, Kurdistan, Transvaal, Yucatán, Greenland or Quebec, aren’t either.

The only reason Greenland isn't a separate member of FIFA is that they don't have a field up to FIFA standard. They have the same level of independency as the Faro Islands wich is a FIFA member (that is Denmark decides on Military and Foreing policy all other is decided localy)
