As possibly being the lonely Ecuadorian on these boards, I do hope my team does well. And by well I mean I hope they at least score a couple of time throughout the tournament and don't get double digits scored on them. Yeah, women in Ecuador are not really known for their soccer abilities.... but kuddos for making it to the World Cup.
From FIFA's Tactical line-up PDF ... Cameroon (Enow Ngachu): ... except that #7 Onguene and #17 Enganamouit have flipped already 9 Madeleine Ngono Mani 7 Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene, 20 Genevieve Ngo Mbeleck, 17 Gaelle Enganamouit 10 Jeannette Yango Ngock, 8 Raissa Feudjio Tchuanyo 4 Yvonne Leuko Chibosso, 2© Christine Manie, 13 Cathy Bou Ndjouh, 12 Claudine Meffometou Tcheno 1 Annette Ngo Ndom Ecuador (Vanessa Arauz): 11 Mónica Quinteros Cabeza, 10 Ámbar Torres Laz 21 Mabel Velarde Coba, 20 Denise Pesántes Tenorio, 5 Mayra Olvera Reyes, 13 Madelin Riera 6 Angie Ponce Baque, 16© Ligia Moreira Burgos, 3 Nancy Aguilar Murillo, 19 Kerlly Real Carranza 1 Shirley Berruz
Fox commentators sure have an obsession with African teams and their "athleticism". Cameroon is a technical side with some very crafty and creative players. I think both teams will put on a better showing then expected.
07' 0-0 Cameroon chip to 4m just outside left post, GK Berruz comes out high as #17 Enganamouit broad-jumps for a header -- shoulder-to-chest collision, Berruz stays down. Stoppage for trainers ... 09' 0-0 Berruz resumes. Ecuador chip down box left, RB #12 Meffometou shields it over. 10' 0-0 Cameroon down the right to #7 Onguene at 13m box right, shot to right post low, Berruz smothers.
Cameroon not passing the ball soon enough. Throwing away too many counter chances... Ecuador doing OK but are clearly over matched. Hopefully, this affair won't be too lopsided.
Loving the spirit of both team's. Cameroon close to their 1st ever WWC goal. Ecuador's keeper having the match of her life!
This one is game over. Going to sleep. Hope they give New Zealand and Japan a run for their money. New Zealand especially seems within reach.
I think they will definitely advance. Feel bad for Ecuador but this good development for them. That said, you should watch a bit of the US match. I think Nigeria can match up well against them.
anyone familiar with bc stadium know at which end 201/254/ or 227/228 the players are exiting from... the side with the red tunnel
This match still at 3-0. I see that problems with shooting, which plagued Nigeria, has affected Cameroon too. SMH. Good for Ecuador to hold the scoreline. I think Cameroon can take 2nd, if not 1st place in this group. Aww. Red card for Ecuador's captain for denying a goal scoring opportunity. 4-0 CMR. Gutted for Ecuador but this is the WWC. Cameroon doing what they need to do, in the event goal differential comes into play.
I want to know who is the genius who programmed this Cameroon - Ecuador at the same time that Usa vs Aus....what a great idea....Anyway, from what I have seen Cameroon obviously is a very athletical/physical team but has some very interesting player...I am not gonna talk about those playing in France even though I am very happy for Ngono Mani...but Onguene and Enganamouit seems to be quite good, what I liked from the African is the defensive organization well to confirm I wait till they face a harder opponent.... The worst hair of all the tournament so far. ...i am speechless....hardly beatable...
