I fear that we two are the only ones interested in this thread.

I'm really curious as well to see if we'll manage to play at the same level of former years and defend the WC title...

    Bonne nuit.

I'm quite a bandwagoner when it comes to women's soccer so I hope they'll do good. Then I'll be very interested. :D

I may give some of the German matches a shot as well if I get the chance although my favorite player (Célia Okoyino da Mbabi) is missing due to an injury.

even though i don't have any interest in who wins or what happens, i'd love to watch a germany game to see how well womens teams play.

and then arrange a game between germany women and england men :D

I am definitely VERY interested in the German WNT and the World Cup 07. :)

Whether this thread will be interesting, though, is still open...

I'm interested. I watched all of Germany's matches at the past 2 WWCs and can't wait for this one.

Does anyone know if this will be televised in the USA?

We could've really used her. She and Rottenberg are propably the ones we gonna miss the most.

I don't think that we are as strong as we were at the last WC.
So far this year we really played under our possibillities, :D but then it could be all tactics. I mean our guys also like to turn it down at the beginning of a WC year.

:D Also I want us to be the first who is WC Winner and WWC Winner at the same time and at the rate brazillian women soccer developes right now it is only a matter of time till they dominate in soccer just a much as their male counterparts to.
So 2007 and 2010 are our best shots:D

Absolutely, although Simone Laudehr seems to be developing into a first rate replacement for Célia. She's still very young, the next WC will be hers then...

    :)

Of course...ESPN2 looks to be showing most of them. As for the final (or even the semifinals) they have in the past shown them on one of the major networks (ABC usually)

so how skilful is women's football?

i am guessing it's slow like old mens football was, and maybe somewhere near as skilful?

    Re: WWC 2007 in China

Of course they are slower than the guys ... however, they can be pretty skillful! Take a look at the last EC final between Germany & Norway in England, which was a really high quality match in my eyes.

The problem in women's football is, that you have only a few good teams worldwide.

Here a report from the DFB site:

The semi final (USA vs Germany) and final (Germany vs Sweden) of the last WC are worth watching as well.

To get an impression of this kind of football, take a look HERE.
