So many great things can come from either, but if you had to chose one, which would you chose? I would pick winning the World Cup.
SO obvious Look at last 2 WC: Germany increased in economy by winning WC2014, and so did Spain in 2010. Ironically. South Africa were even worse after WC2010 as host .. LOL
I chose host because I'm a fan of Die Mannschaft but I live in the US. Of course though if you meant "your country" as in which team you support I'd say win though lol. But I wouldn't necessarily be upset if the USA won the WC. Aside from the taunting I'd be on the end of for not being a home team fan, I would see it as a good thing. Anything that makes the sport more popular and accepted in the US is fine by me. After seeing the increase in interest in soccer from the USMNT performance in WC2014, I can only believe actually winning the thing would have even bigger results.

I think it's obvious that 90% of the people want their country to actually win the World Cup, rather than host it. As for my country, Iraq, I hope we qualify for the World Cup.
