    NO.

Just the psychological factor alone (and the media constantly questioning him, his rosters, and his tactics) would be a huge barrier to overcome.

Coaching a club is not the same as coaching the national team. A coach doesnt have daily contact with the players. It is hard enough for a coach to implement his ideas and his style of football.

I guess 5 years can change a lot of minds.

I remember when he was known as the one who could not be mentioned.

No way in hell. He totally destroyed the Tri and he wouldn't last the pressure. Pachuca not only doesn't have the pressure of a normal team but everybody kisses their ass. The Mexican team would be the total opposite. Nothing was worse than Mexico totally sucking on game and the interview of Meza and just seeing his face not being able to cope with it and looking totally clueless and defeated. So no.

come on hugo hasnt been tested yet, the seleciones they have faced are no match for mexico. There is no reason mexico should lose the gold cup. until i see them winning the gold cup (something lavolpe accuired) then ill admit hugo gots what it takes. but if they dont win it i think meza has another chance, although i take it in high regard that he continues his work with pachuca, the team makes me proud to be mexican. I do have to admit though that his small run with el tri was a fracasotote, thank god there is a man named aguirre. But Meza should be given another chance since he has the highest average of success in the mexican league.

Losing in El Azteca is unforgivable. Even if he wins the world cup with Pachuca. Hell No.

    Stop with the bullshit.

We're talking about giving Meza another chance, not how Hugo's doing.

What Hugo does this summer cannot possibly be even 1/10 worse than what Meza did with the national team.

Now, granted, Meza may have been some mover and shaker with Toluca.

But consider that Trejo won with Pachuca and left.

Consider that 3 previous coaches had won with Pachuca and left.

    Keyword: System.

Pachuca makes you proud to be Mexican with 8 colombians and 2 argies.

I could coach that fucking team.

    And win.

No for all the reasons mentioned. Hes too much of a nice guy which some players take advantage of IMO. He is just a good club coach to some extent. I think if he were to have a second chance he wouldn't take it.

no f'n way! and that hurts me to say cause he's a true gentleman and i have a lot of respect for him. but Aguilas has it right, he's too nice.

i've actually seen el tri outside of the field doing what they best......shopping. you got the best of the best that Mexico has to offer and they are all insecure primadonas. i didn't see one player without a Louis V or Gucci man-purse, btw.

so you can't have a nice guy in charge or they will run all over him. you need someone who they respect (Hugo, LaPuente) or someone who will put a foot in their ass (Aguirre, Mejia Baron).
