Any of the reasons I think of for this new minority owner are not good. Two on my most likely list: Current minority owner needed cash, quickly. The Union needed cash a put a Capital call on the owners. One could not make the call. The new guy got his ownership at a firesale price.
I think it’s not a bad thing to swap an anonymous money guy for a guy who wants to publicly associate with the team as an owner. Also great that the Grahams are upping their investment.
I moved my seats this season over toward the shade side corner. Across from me there are 2 rows some how associated with young Union staff. Maybe they give their friends tickets there, but some are def employees. During games Union staff (some are ticket reps) will walk up, stand in the aisle, sit in other peoples seats or stand in the rows and talk to these 2 rows through out the run of play. Just yukking it up and having a grand old time like the game is not happening. It is 100% disruptive to all the paying fans around them. I look at it compared to the Phillies games where ushers won't even allow paying fans to their seats until a stoppage of play. It makes sense in this organization though. It is just purely unprofessional. I don't think there is any accountability.
Agree, they look like warmups in person yeah F that, we had to shoo some loiterers ( team associated too it appeared ) away from the bottom of 103. Rude bastards
You need to provide that feed back to your rep. I did that on a similar issue last year and it stopped.
Got an aisle seat in a corner section once and it was my worst experience at the park with people constantly coming up and down in front of me. One of those boring 0-0's vs Houston IIRC so no biggie, but I never sat there again.
Yep. The angle is great but you're right about the constant flow of people. It's the only complaint I have about my new seats. I was 1st row sideline the last 7 years and had the same issue with people walking in front of me the entire game thanks to those field seats and Union staff using it as their route around the stadium.
If I have to leave my seat for any reason during either half - usually when my kids need to hit the head, or want a pretzel - I'll try to wait in the vomitory (look it up) until there's a stoppage in play. 9 times out of 10, the usher will tell me I can't loiter there. I'm just trying to be courteous. And, yes, before you ask, I am better than everybody else.
Sugarman was there Saturday with guests. I was shocked to see him considering the wind and cooler temps (tough to fly a chopper in the wind). He had guests, which must have been awkward considering the plethora of empty seats.
They're streaming gameday audio online now for those who cannot attend or watch. Not sure if it's going to be a common thing going forward. https://www.philadelphiaunion.com/post/2018/03/16/game-day-audio-stream-now-available Via Tim McDermott's twitter feed: "@PhilaUnion has begun the 2018 season with two clean sheets in two matches, achieving that feat for the second time in franchise history." Chris Barron would be proud.
@Bryce Union and I were the Season Ticket Members of the Match on Saturday. We got to walk out through the tunnel behind the team and be in the Starting XI photo. The experience is highly recommended. In retrospect, the Union might have won with 13 starters. We were in uniform and ready to play!
Nice! I would’ve gone full kit wanker but eating a donut and smoking. You’re obviously classier than I
I asked my season ticket rep and he emailed it to me. He was nice enough to send it in very high resolution so I can blow it up and get it signed by the team.
I showed the picture to someone at work and he immediately thought that I photoshopped myself in. It took me a minute of insisting before he realized I wasn't joking.
