Overall I agree, but neither is particularly pleasant. I wasn't advocating for a switch to the FIFA calendar, just pointing out that the local climate during the MLS season does the TX teams no favors for helping their attendance issues, just as the FIFA calendar would put a dent in Toronto's attendance. There's a reason the Scandanvian leagues are also all on the MLS calendar and the Russian league takes a really long winter break, but those countries have a more consistent climate nationwide than the US and Canada.
I'm the opposite. I can always try to put on more layers when it's cold out. When it's hot, there's only so much I'm willing to take off to not shock other people ... or get arrested.
Ticket kid just called me, I actually felt bad for him. I was trying not to go full getoffmylawn but there's no way I can stop myself when they ask "what can we do to get you back out". "Spend money, sign good players, try and be competitive, stop telling me how awesome the kids are when the other half of the lineup is 33, otherwise it was good value. Have a good day" Ugh
tickets are under face on stubhub......... TFC low as 24. Columbus low as 14. Dallas low as 19. Montreal low as 19. Cincy low as 16. Revs low as 20. first game that holds any value is Seattle starting at 43 dollars on May 18th... (but I'd imagine all of these prices will drop as the game gets closer) They asked me the same question...I really didn't know what to tell him... like make me an offer dude, idk what to say... some free swag or whatever would be a decent starting point to try to entice people I guess... I was honest though, I said unless the team signs some great players or starts spending big on transfers there isn't much he could do... said if he kicked in a free parking pass I'd probably renew my 3 season tickets cause there is enough value there for me to justify it... (i guess) Straight up told him I'll probably just go a la carte and take the stub hub route since I can probably get in at a cheaper price that way. This was before thanksgiving, he said he'd get back in touch after the holiday.... it's been radio silence ever since. I was on the phone begging for them to give me a reason to renew, racking my brain to find anything to help me reconcile buying tickets.... the sales team doesn't have anything to offer to people like me... They got nothing, and now they are losing 3 year 1 season tickets. (I can't be the only one)
I got the same call this week. I made it clear it wasn't the ticket rep's fault, but said I'll never buy tickets until Sugarman sells. She actually said she had heard that a couple times already..
My favorite was always the offer to upgrade 1 STH level, at your original section's price. However the next season you have to pay full price to stay in the new seats, or return to where you were ... and find out your original seats are no longer available either. Hmmm...how does that benefit me exactly?
How nice of the team to drop a virtual, hot, steaming turd on fans who care enough to make their own mock-ups. Mock-ups which, IMO, are better than what the team is peddling.
I’m buying that Entenmann’s one today if it were real and there’s no way I’m alone. This team is so freaking stupid
Apparently MLS teams don't get a whole lot of input into their kit designs. Basically Adidas brings them a design or two and they give the teams about 2 weeks to make suggestions on them. That's it. Source here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2019-mls-jersey-thread.2090287/page-9#post-37476182
Imagine buying a MLS team and having very little say in you kit design. Garber makes only the best deals
Great point...image telling someone like Jerry Jones or George Steinbrenner, "Here are your new uniforms for this season. We made a few changes from last year based on our marketing research since your old ones were getting a little "dated". You have a few days to make some minor comments, but there's no room in the schedule or budget for any major changes."
I didn't renew, and just checked out individual game Tix. The union website is offering BOGO Tix for the may games. I got 2 Tix for FC Cincinnati and Sounders games in the river end for 64 bucks total. Glad I didn't renew and spend an extra 20 bucks lol
Paging Jay Sugarman. Bring a pen and paper, it's time to take some notes. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...make-crew-sc-most-successful-organization-mls We feel like we're in really good hands. We know that we have the best people in place to lead the soccer part of the organization, so we couldn't be more pleased,” added Haslam, whose group hired former Toronto FC GM Tim Bezbatchenko and coach Caleb Porter earlier this offseason. “We are very confident that we will have the most successful organization in MLS.
