I've been waiting for this for 20 years. I could not believe how many Americans came out, I'm getting word from all over the NYC area, how many bars were packed with US fans. We had nearly 2,000 between 3 pubs..I took the LIRR back to Woodside after the game. I would estimate nearly 40% of the people on the train were US fans..This is 3 hours after the game . This is the time to organize these people. We now know that they're out there, just have to find a way to get them all together

my wife went down to Vanderbilt and Dean in prospect heights..
they supposedly shut down Vanderbilt and ESPN sponsored an event with out door screens there...not sure if they are going to do that again for any other US games.

Me and my friends started off at Jack Dempseys. My friend didn't like the quality of the TV's (they didn't seem to be HD) so we went down the block to Legend's. Someone on here predicted a lot of people would wander over to Legend's and he was right. We lucked out and got a seat and it was a good time. The USA crowd wasn't as large and rabid as I would have liked, but it was still good. That whole block is amazing to watch games, I think. It should be renamed USA Soccer Way.

But if anyway knows other places with rabid USA Soccer fans are going to be at, post them. I could use something better than Legends if it exists.

The only other place you're gonna find rabid US fans in the NYC area is at the Scots club in Kearny NJ..thats it..Sorry your pal didn't like the TV's in Demsey's..they looked fine to me.sounds like you wanted comfort over rabidness

TVs are HD at Scots Club.

7 foot HD projector screen, plus other TVs. Pretty rabid crowd as well, with quite a bit of chanting, even when we were down a goal. Cheap booze and food as well.

Well worth the effort, my opinion.

Definitely should be. There were like 4 match viewings including Foley's and Stout and it became madness afterwards:

In regards to the TVs, I'm sure they're HD. I don't know if the pregame was HD or what. But the fans upstairs (where I was) were epic:

Also, Pebble mentioned that Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers are $2. Jameson or Jack Daniels to be mixed in with your coffee for $2.50.

Guinness was cheap as hell too. F***, everything there is cheap as hell.

    Well worth the effort.

I experienced the same thing during last year's Confed Cup. Had a friend that wanted to watch on bigger screens.

Not sure where I am going yet, but I'll likely walk down 33rd and find someplace along there

Nope, but there still should be a decent crowd. You can show up at gametime and be fine.

the price of beer at jack dempsey's was ridiculous...Might as well have shown up drunk.

edit: I'd also like to add the I won the Adidas gift card raffle during the England game. Guess how much the card is worth? $5.00. WTF? I didn't even know they sold adidas gift cards for that little. Oh, wait, they don't. The lowest you can go is $15, per the adidas website.

The bar had a great atmosphere but otherwise my experience was "meh"

Scots Club is pretty inexpensive. I know for the England game a bunch of us NYCers were commenting on that a bunch of times.

What do you mean by "ridiculous"? $6 for imports and $5 for domestic is what expect to pay for in most Manhattan drinking establishments. Sure there are happy hours specialsgoing on all the time for $1-2 less.
Unless you paid $7 or more for a pint I wouldn't consider it ridiculous.

Since when are Long Trail and Coors considered imports?

Maybe I'm just not used to NYC prices. I was visiting the city at the time of the game. I suppose I've been spoiled by the $3 pitchers of beer I get up here in rural Massachusetts.

Still, though. A $5 gift card? They told me it was for $100. :D

Long Trail is a microbrew so $6 is expected for that. Coors, on the other hand, is a cheaply made, atrociously-tasting beer that should not be more than $2 if quality is applied to prices.

Leaving NYC makes me question why I live here.

This...I have no explanation for
