World Cup:Possible Groupings

    Dear american and german and other friends here,

    on December 9 we will know which countries will be in our group for the World Cup 2006. We all are very nervous. I´m interested in your opinion. Which countries would you wish to have in our german group and why?
    Which countries - from your point view - should be most dangerous for Germany. Maybe we can discuss about possible scenarious - advantages
    and disadvantages. A bit Pre-World Cup feeling on the board.

    What about Czech Republic - of course if they qualify against Norway?

    Germany group:

    Germany, Argentina, Italy, Switzerland (if they qualify)

    next proposal or idea?

    if FIFA uses the same seeding process as they used at the last WC, the following eight teams will be seeded and will as a result not be able to face each other in group play.

    1 Brazil 64 points
    2 Spain 49 (have yet to qualify and I am pulling for Slovakia)
    3 Germany 48
    4 Mexico 47
    5= Argentina 46
    5= ENGLAND 46
    7= France 45
    7= Italy 45

    so Germany could face Holland and the USA who just miss out on being seeded if Spain qualifies.

    9 Holland 43
    10 USA 41

    Otherwise, I would rather discuss the groups after the draw. Too much speculation hurts my head.

    Words can not decribe how much this movie sucks. Does the fact that I did root for the Nazis in this game make me a bad person? :D

    Wow it is great comment. You are good expert!!

    No Holland or USA. Actually I was trying to avoid both in our group.
    I´m Germany fan, but my second favorite is USMNT. I dream about finale
    GERMANY-USA. Don´t say I got crazy. Everything is possible. But it would be better when USA and Germany don´t play in the same group.

    Holland-Germany: clasic games:) ....It will be hard to beat Holland, but
    we can make it. I believe in our boys. Just we need to make better and
    harder defense!!!

    I only wanted to make a game, forecast for our group as Americans do at their threads. They make many scenarios:). But of course we will have a lot
    of discussions here after draw in december.

    lol.....seriously that movie is that bad....I should really consider to watch it again some time. Haven't done so for many years.

    I thought the groups were going to be known by december 12 th?

    are u sure it's on december 9th?

    Well I thought we can make a small game here and to create our "ideal group". Maybe I should ask question: What do you think which countries will be in our group? Or which countries would you wish are in our group?
    Then we can compare our forecasts with real draw on december 09 and discuss about our group.

    Come and have a some fun here
    Some game and creat your "ideal group" for Germany.

    Maybe DF can give the winner some prize. Maybe someone of us will
    be right with their forecast.

    So start and play a game!!

    Why USA in our group again? Don´t forget we have an american moderator here. It would be very funny if we are in one group.

    No USA, no czech and no Holland.
    Other countries should be not a big deal.

    Any other suggestion here?

    That would be the ultimate group I think. Easy for Germany, very competitive and exiting for Serbia and Montenegro, Iran and USA.

    I would not say USA is easy. They can surprise us if they bring their
    top motivated A-team with Beasley-Donovan-Reyna etc.

    I remember Iran and USA :). Sound like revange.

    Do your remember Germany-USA game in the last World Cup?:)
    I don´t think we had it so easy. We won, but it was very closely.

    Germany will get another European country in their group. Every group will have at least one unseeded Euro country,

    I think you are right, it would be a decent group. Don't think it would be THAT easy for Germany ;)
