It's good to get tested early so the team finds their groove. At Italia '90 we had a very competitive draw with the former Yugoslavia and Colombia in our groups. The Euro '96 draw was also a stern test right from the beginning, with Croatia, Czech Republic, and Italy being in the same group. A tough group brings out the best in all teams; this is lost when you deal with power-puff opponents in the group stage.
I hear what you say .. We always have difficulty against the eastern european teams anyway ... Would be good to have England, Nigeria(Strongest African team) and USA. We should easily qualify from this group but still face good opponents.

Would like: Germany England Ecuador Honduras Just something I'd like. And if we could get Brazil, Spain, and Argentina all in the same bracket so we'd avoid all of them until the finals, that'd be great too

I don't see trouble if Germany and Italy are in the same group. The good point is that the italians can't destroy the Mannschaft this time in knockout stages. Speaking of history germans do better in group stages. The italians are also known to draw in group stages with less goals, while Germany was always a "Tor Maschine".
Ill take England plus two tier 2 teams make a group of death. Anything to see England eliminated in the group stages.
