Well when there was talk of Adidas attempting to buy the rights to sponsor Brazil, Nike hit back by attempting to buy the rights for Germany. It may have been the other way though. Either way, it happened a couple of years back, and was a bit of a laugh at the time.

Brazil wore Umbro at USA 94. I also remember them wearing a smaller companies uniforms. I think the Brazil Nike deal started shortly after USA 94. France has been in adidas as long as I can remember.

I do know Nike made an offer to sponsor Germany not too long ago. Obviously they turned it down. France switching to Nike is just plain weird. Plus with all the problems going on with the national team Nike must be regretting they even offered France a deal.

i actually rather like England's new kit -- particularly the sleeves and collar. the little st george's crosses are particularly innovative, but from what i can tell, many commenters on football shirt culture hate it. personally, i wouldve kept them all red as opposed to having the multi-colored crosses.

Not a fan of the new England shirt, i think the current design only sold as well as it did because of the WC.
