I see Antonia retweeted a Violanews tweet whic reported Fiorentina interest towards her...which ony means the interest is mutual....Long time not seeing her on the pitch but if healthy it will be a great singing for Fiorentina.
As for Manuela Giugliano how many clubs she already changed in her career?....She's just 19 years old..
Very sorry for Cernoia wishing her a prompt recovery.

Göransson has played pretty much every game for Kolbotn this season, but the club has struggled more than ever because many key players departed/retired after 2016, change of coach mid-way through, so it has not been easy for a new player like her to adapt. Antonia has scored one goal this season though which made the "goal of the week" candidates. I wish her good luck in Firenze.

At the end Juventus unveiled the first 12 players of the roster, most of them are the names rumoured from a while, but there are also a few new names:

    From Brescia:
    Sara Gama NT, defender
    Cecilia Salvai NT, defender
    Martina Lenzini, U19NT, defender
    Martina Rosucci, NT midfielder
Valentina Cernoia NT, midfielder (currently injuried)
    Barbara Bonansea NT, forward

    From Verona:
    Aurora Galli NT, midfielder
    Lisa Boattin, midfielder

    From Res Roma:
    Arianna Caruso U19NT, midfielder

    From Luserna (serie B):
    Federica Russo, GK

    From Colonia (Germany)
    Laura Giuliani, NT, GK

+ the Finnish NT defender Tujia Hyryynen (sp ?), former Fortuna Hjorring

Since the team training will begin the 10th of August, I suppose that the other players will be signed within a few days and, judging from this list, they still need a couple of defenders, a couple of midfielders and at least 4 forwards, may be 5...:cautious:

Well, looks like Brescia has basically been dismantled... :(

I keep not liking Juventus' methods. :devilish:

Agree with you, although not all the players who left Brescia went to Juventus, some of them are still without a club.
About the future of Brescia, of the senior group only the 2 GK Marchitelli and Ceasar, Sabatino and Girelli re-signed, but they have added some very good players (Giugliano, Bergamaschi, Giacinti, Di Criscio, all the foreigners) so I think that, with 2-3 more signings that are on schedule the team potentially has all the means to play a leading character in the next season too....(assuming that the new trainer will be able to gel the team).

Damn Brescia has been ripped off by Juventus is crazy . FIVE! national team members all gone at the same club in the same moment...I have never saw it before not even when OL took Abily, Bompastor, Necib and co from Montpellier ....Which cause me to ask you did all these players had their contract terminate at Brescia or they were completely amateur they didn't had any kind of obbligation with the club?....Anyway, glad Brescia react fast and signed some good players to limit the damage, even though all these players at Juventus means they immediately are the main opposition to Fiorentina.
I know this move is rightly hated by many people in Italy but is the only way to grow your movement....the price is high but we must pay it for the future of women football...
Anyway, it looks llike the most damaged team is Verona losing Piemonte, Boattin, Di Criscio, Galli, Giugliano without replacement apparently.
Transfer news, I still need confirmation but apparently Fiorentina signed two French players, Precillia Rinaldi, 19 y.o cm from PSG youth team and Oceane Daniel, 20 y.o cb from Rodez but ex-PSG academy also, while Canadian Madison Solow signed for Rodez from Chievo Verona.

I don't know for which reason, but so far all the player contracts has been 1-year long, and had to be renewed every start of the season...I have read that Juventus now made 2-years long contracts, although all the players have the same amateurish status: who knows, may be it's the beginning of a different way to view the reciprocal obligations between players and clubs...:cautious:
About Verona, you are right, they actually lost all the senior players, all the one you named + Thalmann (to Mozzanica), Gabbiadini (retired, unless last-minute change of mind), Rodella (to a Serie B club in Tuscany), but now they have a new management and the coach said that are going to sign a lot of new players and rebuild the team from the scratch to fight for the title...the problem is that most of the good players aren't anymore available, so I am very curious to see their next moves...
Thank for the rumors about french players coming to Italy, please keep us updated !
Latest news: Silvia Fuselli , one of the former Brescia players still without a team, has signed with Valpolicella/Chievo Verona (I call them this way because, although keeping their previous name for this season, they have been bought by the mens' club and will share sponsors, colour of the kits and actually will be part of the Chievo family).

Now it's official: Milena Bertolini is the new coach of WNT !
Her first commitment will be the quali for WC 2019, the first match the 15th of September vs. Moldova.
During her last 3 years in Brescia Bertolini won 2 Serie A championships and 2 Coppa Italia titles, and she's a fan of 3-5-2 and of an attacking approach, even vs. stronger teams, that sometimes led to be criticized by other trainers and journalists.
We'll see if and how she'll stick to this approach and if will take back to the NT those players (in primis Giacinti and Bonetti) who had been left out by Cabrini, or even new players who did'nt ever had caps...

Her the official statement from the english page of the FIGC:

WOMEN’S TEAMS - Milena Bertolini has been confirmed as coach of the Women’s National Team, replacing Antonio Cabrini who will leave his role after five seasons. Originally from Reggio Emilia, Bertolini enjoyed a successful playing career and featured for Reggiana, Modena, Prato, Sassari, Bologna, Agliana, Fiammamonza, Pisa and Verona, during which she won three Scudetti, one Coppa Italia, one Supercoppa Italiana and also enjoyed one Serie B promotion. As a coach, she has taken charge of Verona, Reggiana and Brescia, helping her teams win three Scudetti, three Coppa Italia trophies and four Supercoppa Italiana titles. As for personal honours, she has also been awarded the Panchina d’Oro on six occasions, a prize given to her by the FIGC after being selected by her fellow coaches. “Coaching the National Team is a dream come true for me,” said Bertolini. “As of today I will start working with the same passion and commitment that has always been present in my career, whether as a player or coach. We have a difficult task ahead of us, that of taking Italy to the 2019 World Cup after a 20-year absence. However, I am sure we can win it.”

The new Azzurre coach will guide her side through qualification for the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France, making her debut with the team on September 15th against Moldova at the Stadio Alberto Picco in La Spezia. Italy are in Group 6 alongside Belgium, Portugal, Romania and Moldova. The team finishing in first place will progress directly to the World Cup, while the four best second placed sides from the seven groups will each compete in play-offs to secure the final qualification spot.

Within the Women’s youth teams, Enrico Sbardella will stay in charge of the Under-19s (his side set to take part in the European Championship finals in Northern Ireland in the next few days), while Massimo Migliorini has moved up to the Under-17s from the Under-16s. They were led last year by Rita Guarino, who has since switched to Juventus. It has yet to be confirmed who’ll take charge of the Under-23 and Under-16 sides.

    News from the mercato:

4 more former Brescia players just found a new home:
defender Roberta d'Adda, midfielder Chiara Eusebio and forward Stefania Tarenzi (along with Giada Pondini, ex Ravenna Women) will play next season with Sassuolo.
Defender Raffaella Manieri , who had a difficult last season, with many injuries and a few playing time, will try to re-start her career with Ravenna Women.
Rumors that the Fiorentina midfielder Debora Salvatori Rinaldi is going to sign for Espanyol, so following Martina Piemonte in the next season Superliga

Wow, these are the times when I really feel like a "super-rep" button here on BigSoccer is sorely missed!!! :geek:

I am very happy that, unlike other federations (Germany? :whistling:), Italian one drew their own conclusions soon after the failure of Euro 2017 (you can't call it any other way, despite the late win vs Sweden) and moved with a speed and readiness that are unheard of for what concerns Italian women's football, that was so often neglected as no more than a back-thought inside our federation.
A change on the bench was long-time due, not only for the result at Euro 2017 in itself, but because under Cabrini all of the program was stagnant and in his 5 years of tenure the team didn't make any significant progress. It's symbolic that the change was announced even before the end of Euro 2017, thus beating any other federation at that and sending a strong signal. August, in Italy, is too often a narcotic month, when it's easy to postpone any important decision to September. Appointing the new coach on 4th of August is a way of saying: "it is important, it counts for us, there's no time to lose!". I am pleasantly surprised by this fast decision making. :geek:

Finally, the choice of the name is sound and convincing. Finally a coach who has a longtime experience of Italian and international women's football and who's not afraid to play head-on even with stronger opponents. Yes, it can be risky, but I like the will to experiment something new and the consistency of believing in an idea: Italy needs that; we don't qualify for WWC since 1999: what do we have to lose? I like the notion of an Italy team who will try a modern approach with an offense-oriented attitude. Portugal and especially Belgium had a more than decent display at Euro 2017 but these are teams that I can see being beaten by a good Italy in a good day. Let's build up strategy, technique, style of play and motivation; let's call the best players available with no prejudice; and in the end we're going to see where we're at! :)

A pair of seasons ago, I went in Brescia to see Bertolini's team take on OL in Champions' League: they were harshly beaten, but I liked their attitude a lot; they didn't bunker as you could have expected, but they played their game. I want to see an Italy NT with the same mindset. :ninja:

These are very good news and this is a very good day for Italian women's football, maybe the first step for a new era of real change! (Since, even at the domestic league level, the support from professional men's teams looks promising).

Lots of mercato movements in the last days, let's make a recap of the most important signings:

    Juventus:
    Ingvild Isaksen,
Norwegian NT midfielder, from Staebek, played also 30' in the first match in the recent Euro.
Michela Franco, midfielder/defender fom Cuneo, already 200 caps in Serie A
Benedetta Glionna and Sofia Cantore , both NTU19, currently in Northern Ireland for the Euro, very talented players who last season led FiammaMonza to the promotion in Serie B; will be interesting to see how they will adapt switching from Serie C to Serie A all of sudden, although I don't think they will be in the starting 11.
Vanessa Panzeri, defender, U17NT, from Como2000

    Fiorentina:
After the rumors about foreign players coming the club officially signed the Swedish forward Antonia Goransson, the French defender Oceane Daniel (from Rodez), and the Icelander midfielder Sigrun Ella Einarsdottir , from Stjarnan.
Out Deborah Salvadori Rinaldi officially in Spain with Espanyol

    Sassuolo:
    Sandy Iannella
midfielder with a big experience, last season played with Cuneo but in the past has been one of the backbones of Torres when the club won multiple titles.

    Ravenna Women:
    Francesca Pittaccio
, talented forward with many goals scored in the last seasons with Roma in Serie B.
Luisa Pugnali, forward, Luisa Cuciniello, defender, and Erika Campesi, midfielder, both from the relegated Jesina.

We could ask something more about her to @Bauser :).

Well, now that's official we can say that this is really a great signing, not only for Fiorentina, but also by a general Serie A Femminile perspective: we're not used to get players of this caliber in our league!

Fiorentina vs Juventus will be something else next season.....I can't wait...Kudos to both teams on elevating the level of Serie A and Brescia to keeping up with the two "pro male clubs"...By the way did Fiorentina and Juventus players are professional?
Goalie Silvia Vicenzi signs at Empoli from Chieti, from the highlights I saw of her last season I like that..anway, Fiorentina didn't officialised Precillia Rinaldi yet?...In French website they are saying that it's all done she signed for one season.
A curiosity Fiorentina recruited four French players (two men also) this summer...how do they know Firenze is one of our favourite city?...:)
Unfortunately not only good news for French players in Italy as forward Barbara Bouchet who was about to sign for Serie B club Trani from OM had a serious problem in Italy.
    https://www.calciofemminileitaliano...barbara-bouchet-forza-allolympique-marsiglia/

ps: Is it true that Barbara Bouchet is also the name of a very famous actress in Italy?..Really?

Yes, although it wasn't her real name, just a stage name.

She had success especially in the sexy-comedy genre, so I guess you could say... "very" famous, at least in the '70s. ;) Right now, I am not sure if younger generations heard about her. But older supporters could have surely made some unfair comparisons to her namesake. :giggle:

I am very sad for what happened to her in Trani. :(

Yes, I read a few day ago what happened to the french girl, very sad and embarassing for the town of Trani and our italians in general, but let me say that the girl too had been a bit naive...Never ever leave money and phone into an unguarded car ! In the south, in the north, everywhere (at least here in Italy) ! Now thiefs have scanners and passing by a car can check if there are into electronic devices, even turned off, so they can steal 100% sure that will find something valuable...
About Barbara Bouchet, as rightly pointed Blissett, it was a stage name, and she isn't French or Italian, she's German. After the war went to USA, where adopted that stage name probably thinking that a french name for an wanna be actress would have helped her career, then came here and became famous playing in a lot of sexy-comedy B-movies, that in the 70' and 80' where very successfull at the box office.
Yes, probably in her everyday life here and during the matches this homonymy could have led to some embarrassing situations and a lot of hints, it depends if the girl have some sense of humour and would be able to manage it with a laugh...

About the Fiorentina signings, the club didn't release official statements, but the players I named have been seen by fans yesterday in the first day of training, so it's 100% sure...probably it's true for Precillia Rinaldi too, may be she hasn't be recognized by the viewers...by the way which kind of players are these two girls ?

Firenze probably is one of the favourite cities for most of the foreigners, mainly for those who have some interest in arts, past culture and quality of life in general, so I am not surprised that is a coveted destination for the players, also because the club is serious although not so ambitious as others (at least on the men's side) and the pressure on players isn't huge.

Bouchet at Trani is quite a strange transfer, I'm not quite sure is purely for football reason...I mean, Barbara is a good player with some potential she did well when playing for Saint-Etienne and Marseille in D1F, she's definitely a first division player so seeing her leaving for a Serie B team ...with all my due respect to Apulia Trani...is clearly downgrading her football level so I think her motivation for joining the Italian club may be others.
Even her accident is kinda weird, first because she used to live at Marseille where you could definitely find car breaking in abundance so she should have known how to keep her money and belonging safe. Second, if I read correctly she came in Italy with her own car, was alone when this happened, didn't had a translator at the police station which means nobody from Apulia Trani or even someone acting like her agent/friend was there with her when she had to do this very important administrative shuffle at the town hall.... This story is definitely strange.
Thanks for the info on the actress but in France she is completely unknown...well may be some old folks remember her....and I'll be not surprise at all if Barbara Bouchet doesn't know who Barbara Bouchet is...:laugh:.

From what I saw about them I would say Oceane Daniel is a robust, solid central defender who used to play holding midfielder also, she 's quite raw due to her very young age, at the moment she is just a physical player but could develop her technical abilities, she has some potential imo.
Precillia Rinaldi is a small central midfielder with some technical abilities, good passing range I'd say a kind of deep lying playmaker but she's also a good leader on the pitch, captain of PSG U19 teams which won the last two Juniors championship in France.
Oceane has only one season at D1F while Precillia never play at the highest level so both are defnitely not ready straight away with Fiorentina, I think they need at least two seasons to settle in Italy.

ps: I'm not sure but Rinaldi could actually have Italian citizenship despite being born in France or something similar.

    Last moves of the mercato:

Verona, after the massive exodus of players, at the end announced the first signing: Anna Rosa Buhigas, with dual Spain - USA passport, 22 yo, will be the new GK, coming from Nashwille Rhythm FC
Juventus signed the ever-green Simona Sodini, 35 yo, who had a really good season last year with Cuneo, coming back from maternity leave...kudos to the club, who recognized the talent beyond the age of the player, and really happy for her, a real soccer-mom !
Speaking of Juventus, here a video from the official channel that shows the first media conference and a few images of the environment in which the players will train, I think that the video speaks for itself...

Last but not least, here there is something that could be of interest for blissett....;)

Great news from Juventus (again) as they signed the very promising young English midfielder Katie Zelem from Liverpool.

As you can see she's absolutely delighted to join the Italian giant...well not in female football yet.

Talking about Sodini, indeed I recognized her from the image but I wasn't sure it was Simona because Juventus didn't officially announced her signing or I missed it?...Anyway,I'm very happy for Sodini to join them she deserves it! She's having a wonderful career , I applaud her devotion to this wonderful sport.:thumbsup:.
Last but not least I would like to salute and thank Melania Gabbiadini for her enormous contribution to our movement during all these years....One of the very best of her generation, if Fiorentina and Juventus are getting seriously involved in Italian female football is also thanks to girls like her and all the sacrifice they did during all these years...Grazie mille Melania.;)

About Katie Zelem, I don't follow much the WSL so I didn't heard of her, but looks like a very interesting player, since has been capped in all the YNT, from U16 till the current U23...and probably there is more foreign signings to come for Juventus, they are testing a New Zealand player and girl from USA coming from college teams...

Last days of mercato here and last announcements:
Juventus signed New Zealand 24 y.o. forward Katie Rood, from Auckland Glenfield Rovers: she had some caps in the U20WNT and, according to the article below, is part of a developement program set by the New Zealand fed. to help the girls to find playing chances overseas:
    http://nrfl.co.nz/rovers-star-signs-for-juventus/

Verona signed the Belgian international Diede Lemey, 20 y.o., who was in the NT at the recent Euro as the 2nd GK but I don't think had playing time...

Brescia signed the young defender Tecla Pettenuzzo from Padova, who had some caps both in U17NT and U19NT...last signing to come should be another foreign player, will see...
