The 38 teams in order of ranking and presumed qualifying pots https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=22332821&postcount=14 No real groups of death possible I'd say. Mcruic's rankings suggests Netherlands, Switzerland, and Germany are the tough draws while the opponents of Finland, Ukraine, Slovenia and Greece would consider themselves lucky.

I wonder if all life came to a standstill on the respective tiny islands during this titanic clash ? More seriously, the winners of these groups now advance to further qualifying groups (and not to the Euros itself) ?
Yes, this was the bottom eight in UEFA battling it out for the right to participate in the big UEFA qualification for WWC spots.
While it's good to see these teams play competitive matches, I'm not sure the format of the next stage is sensible. 38 teams - 4 groups of 5 and 3 groups of 6. I think there should have been 3 preliminary groups of 4 teams, which would leave 35 teams in the 2nd stage (7 groups of 5 teams), making the runners-up calculations a lot easier. Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Estonia and maybe Croatia could have joined these 8 teams in the prelims. In any case, somebody at UEFA was paid to make this decision to have 38 teams in the next stage instead of the more sensible 35. Doesn't make any sense to me.
I thought about the same, but was more wondering why they didn't run all groups on 6 teams. Thus elimnating one of the pre-qualification groups. UEFA shouldn't ahve pre-qualification groups, we don't on the mens side, and all teams (and player) get better by playing real games.
I agree - but because women's football is still new to some of these countries, losing 12-0 and 13-0 might destroy their confidence. Some of the players are very young, and defeats like this are not good for them. At least the pre-qualification allows some competition on an equal level. The difference between top and bottom in women's football in Europe is far greater than it is in the men's game. Look at Macedonia here - they beat Luxembourg 5-1, but themselves lost 12 goals to Netherlands in World Cup qualification. Imagine what Netherlands or a better team would have done to Luxembourg. I'm not sure a 15-0 or 16-0 defeat is good for anyone.
Today (monday the 14th) is the draw for the real qualifying groups in Nyon at 14:00 CET. As expected the last two pots are combined. Seeding pots Pot A: Germany (holders), Norway, England, France, Italy, Denmark, Finland Pot B: Russia, Netherlands, Iceland, Spain, Ukraine, Scotland, Czech Republic Pot C: Switzerland, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Slovenia Pot D: Hungary, Serbia, Portugal, Greece, Slovakia, Romania, Wales Pot E: Bulgaria, Northern Ireland, Turkey, Israel, Estonia, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia http://en.uefa.com/womenseuro/news/newsid=1604645.html Special note regarding Bosnia and Herzegovina: "Due to the risk of suspension by FIFA of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation (NFSBiH), Bosnia and Herzegovina have automatically been drawn in sixth position in Group 1 in order to avoid the possibility of a five-team group being reduced to four."
Fixtures, which will be confirmed shortly, will run on international dates for 12 months from September 2011, with matches on Wednesdays/Thursdays and Saturdays/Sundays. The group winners and best runners-up (not counting results against sixth-placed teams) will qualify direct for the finals alongside hosts Sweden. The six remaining runners-up will contest home-and-away play-off matches on 20/21 and 24/25 October 2012, with the three winners of these ties also qualifying. The 12-team finals will be played in July 2013. Draw Group 1: Italy, Russia, Poland, Greece, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, Bosnia and Herzegovina Group 2: Germany (holders), Spain, Switzerland, Romania, Turkey, Kazakhstan Group 3: Norway, Iceland, Belgium, Hungary, Northern Ireland, Bulgaria Group 4: France, Scotland, Republic of Ireland, Wales, Israel Group 5: Finland, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovakia, Estonia Group 6: England, Netherlands, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia Group 7: Denmark, Czech Republic, Austria, Portugal, Armenia* http://en.uefa.com/womenseuro/news/newsid=1606820.html
Most pot 1 teams should easily win their groups. However I could imagine that Italy, England and Finland might have problems with their respective pot 2 teams. Because Russia and Netherlands are quite strong and because Finland are by far the weakest pot 1 team.
These are not international teams, but they are Euro, in fact CL - tomorrow's games are all live on this site. They are looking for interest to sustain coverage, hence this post. EDIT - sorry guys, its just a live ticker (score, etc) feed, no video.....
This a thread about the Women's Euro 2013 qualifiers for national teams (Hence the title of the post). Did you post this in the wrong thread?
Yes, but deliberately, I said they were not national teams. The WSU site was asking for "support" to help them justify/sustain the live feeds, which I was originally naive enough to think might actually be live video feeds.
