We'll be without Ndombele, Lamela, Davies, Lloris and Vorm. Winks is a possibility (I don't think that's a good thing). Tough game this at Molyneux, Wolves are flying. Jota, who came off the bench to score a 2nd half hat trick in the Europa League on Thursday, has been immense playing off their #9 Jimenez, who like Harry Kane, has the ability to drop off and combine with their mids. They play a back 3 and look to play on the counter with the pace of Adama Traoré who is finally fulfilling the promise he showed at Middlesbrough and Aston Villa. This will be a good test to see if Mourinho 2.0 has the nous to beat a good side away from home. Not for the first time, Danny Rose has been running off his mouth about running down his contract. I would love the club to run him over to the reserves, for someone who has been so poor for a long time, he should keep his mouth shut. There is a reason nobody wanted to buy him this summer.
Man, Wolves are playing well, helped a bit by Spurs iffy defending. But Spurs are being run over in midfield.
Ahhhh, finally Spurs break, got the advantage, Dier leads, nice flick form Dele...and Dier alone hits the post.
This is one of those matches where Wolves could ether play with optimism that they will score, or eventually get frustrated with their inability to score.
Ever so slightly, things are starting to turn Spurs way. Getting the foul calls, getting a bit more possession...just a bit, but noticeable.
Wolves looks so good. They remind me of how Spurs used to play under early Pochettino. Just relentless for 90 minutes, I keep expecting them to tire out, but still running their socks off in the 84th minute. By comparison Spurs are caught in possession or with lazy passes. we’ll be lucky to escape with a draw.
Eriksen is coming on in in the next stoppage, for the first sub o the match in the 88th...89th...90th minute?
Not only that, Wolves look like they know each other the way Spurs did. If this team had not been playing so long together, with the new tactics by Jose, I'd say that Spurs would be down a goal or two.
Only the second home loss for Wolves this season, and they certainly did not deserve it. What a really entertaining team. But, like Poch, I think their lack of subs cost them the match.
