I think Miki took it out, but Burki is great so far.

Sportswear technology has evolved. Sports nutrition has moved forward in leaps and bounds. Modern players are superb athletes. Coaching and standards have hit new heights with video and computer technology. But referees are still the same incompetent idiots who roamed the fields back in the 70's.

This has got to be one of the most fücked up matches I have ever seen. A drunk clothed streaker accosts Kampl and KAMPL has to escort him out of the field!!! Where's the security FFS!!!??

The second half was not as encouraging as the first. Lost control of the game and could have conceded. The team really needs a big signing to give the players a boost, but it's not going to happen.

Awful security, which could have been dangerous. The fan was an idiot for coming on and should get a ban.

    My assessment:

LP, Mats and Marco absolutely sucked. Kagawa probably would have joined them if he had played longer than 25min. PEA did slightly better.

Gundogan, Miki, Weigl, Marcel and Kampl actually showed up and played well. Castro likely would have joined them too.

No Burki no EL next round for us. Man of the Match by a long shot.

Now I remember what it's like to have a superb GK win you matches.

We need a world class central attacking midfielder within our ranks. A striker would be too expensive and a good fit is near impossible to find. This match should be a clear indication that Kagawa despite his recent showings is not going to deliver week in week out.

We did better than Sampdoria and West Ham, but the second half was weak, especially on the back.

Taking a 1-0 lead home is scary after that awful 2nd half performance.

This its early in the season. Give our guys some slack. Burki saved our asses yeah but its not all that bad. Game is much better IMHO than previous year.

I want to be impressed but against some club in Austria I'd never heard of I expected us to be more in control.

Yes I agree and this was obvious from the start of the season. I blame the board, but now we just need to hope that Kagawa somehow becomes the player he was 2 years ago. De Bruyne will probably leave no matter what Wolfsburg say and that should make top 4 a lot easier. Gladbach have to manage the CL whilst losing 2 key players too.
