(Winter transfers are coming up, and a few deals/releases have already been made - how come there isn't a thread about these yet? :D)

    Henrik Ipsen signs for SønderjyskE
The 32-year old experienced Silkeborg-keeper has been benched most of the fall-season due to the arrival of David Preece - now he's taken the consequence. Ipsen has signed a contract lasting 2½ years for the relegation-candidates, and arrives January 1st.

    Johnny Thomsen Signs for SønderjyskE
The 24-year old right winger comes from local rivals Fredericia where he's had around 100 first team games over the past years. He's signed as a backup for Peter Nymann, and should not expect too much time on the pitch in the spring season unless Nymann is sold in the winter transfer window.

    Søren Jensen leaves Viborg
The young defender is touted as a major talent and had his first team breakthrough at league highflyers Viborg this fall. He couldn't agree a new deal with the club though, and is thus on a free transfer from january. Several clubs, both Danish and foreign, have already expressed an interest in signing the Danish U21 NT player.

    Marco Reda leaves AaB
Another defender turning free agent, the Canadian NT player has been weighed and found too light for AaB. The experienced defender got 20 first team games for AaB. It is not yet know wether he continues in Denmark or leaves for another country.

    Ali Al-Habsi (24)
Arguably the best goalkeeper in Norway for the past couple of years. The Oman international has signed a contract with Premier League side Bolton, as his contract with FC Lyn Oslo is about to expire.

    Eddie Gustafsson (27)
Al-Habsi's replacement at FC Lyn Oslo. The Sweden international goes on a bosman transfer from his former club Ham Kam. Have been in Norway for some years, previously with Molde. Regarded as one of the better goalies in the league, probably top 5. Had the opportunity to join better clubs in other European countries, but decided to stay in Norway not to jeopardize his place in Sweden's World Cup squad next summer.

Lars Hirschfeld (27) moves from Tromsø to Rosenborg.
Tromsø couldn't prevent the Canadian international from joining RBK, as he was only there on a short term contract. The former Tottenham goalkeeper has already proven himself as one of the best goalies in the league. At RBK he'll get stiff competition from Norway's second choice, Espen Johnsen.

Jarl André Storbæk (27) sold from Ham Kam to VIF.
Versatile defender, widely expected to overtake Bergdølmo in the Norwegian national team. Has joined league champions Vålerenga, from Ham Kam.

    Morten Fevang (30) joins Odense
Experienced midfielder who's been a key player at Odd for most of his career.

Stefan Ishizaki (23) sold to Elfsborg.
Sweden international midfielder. Was one of the more prestigious signings before the 2005 season, but he's been a failure with the league champions Vålerenga. Returns to Swedish football ..

    Petter Vaagan Moen (21)
The promising left midfielder, who's said to get his first international games for Norway against USA and Mexico in january, was bought by Brann in the summer. But finished the season with his former club Ham Kam.

    Jan Derek Sørensen (34)
The veteran winger and former Norway international recently made a controversial bosman transfer from FC Lyn Oslo to their local rivals Vålerenga.

Peter Kopteff (26) - is out of contract
Has decided to leave Viking, but yet to name a new club. Although he's been linked with FC København. Finland international, creative left winger.

All of the Nigerian players at FC Lyn Oslo have today left Norway again, and are not likely to return. John Obi Mikel, Chinedu Ogbuke and Ezekiel Bala - all of them might face a worldwide ban from playing pro football.

    Egil Østenstad retires
The former Southampton, Blackburn and Rangers striker has retired. He had an excellent final season with Viking, scoring 14 goals in the league, even managed to be called back for the national team. Everyone wanted him to take another season, but Østenstad had made up his mind. Will still be at the club, as a Sporting Director.

Steffen Iversen (29) and Vålerenga has decided to end their relationship for the time being. Iversen is looking for a contract with a foreign club, preferably in England.

    Good job ThunderZtorm ...

Around a week ago the rumour was that the young Viborg left back Søren Jensen had serious talks with AGF sporting director BSN. Not surpringly, since AGF is in need of good left and right backs... Now that it's a fact that Søren Jensen is leaving Viborg, ther could be more to the talks he had with AGF ;) :D ...

    Cheikh Sarr to AGF

AGF have signed a 3½-year contract with the 18-yo Danish U19 international Cheikh Tidiane Sarr. The talented left back has this season been a regular for Lyngby BK in the Danish 1st division, but from the age of 16 he also spend 1½ year at the French top-flight club Girondins de Bordeaux before moving back to Denmark in 2004. Cheikh Sarr (known as "Cher") is said to be strong, very quick and excellent in one-on-one situations...

AGF have signed the 27-yo former Coventry, Hibernian and Luton goalkeeper, Morten Hyldgaard (Esbjerg) on a 3-year contract. Also FC Midtjylland showed interest in signing Hyldgaard, but he chose to follow his head coach Ove Pedersen to AGF.

AGF have also signed the 22-yo Brøndby central defender Thomas Hansen and the 22-yo AM/F, Jesper Jørgensen (Frem) on a 3-year contract. Jørgensen was suppose to go on trial at Viborg but chose to sign with AGF instead...

Otherwise, the 31-yo AGF forward, Helgi Sigurðsson (Iceland 56 caps, 10 goals) is returning to Iceland to finish his career at Fram Reykjavik...

Ofcause this will all happen on January 1st, when the Danish transfer window open..

They are all under contract with Lyn and if they deny to play for the club they will get banned from playing football on a professional level for disobedience.

Tommy Øren (25) signed by Ham Kam from Sogndal
Left winger / forward. Once the most talented young player in Norway, got his international debut at an early age. But he's never been the same after he got badly injured by a vicious tackle from Odd Inge Olsen (then Molde, later Rosenborg). Hope Per Ciljan Skjelbred copes with his injury in a better manner.

    Peter Kopteff (26) leaves Viking
As said, he was out of contract, has now signed for Stoke.

Rami Shaaban (30) signs for Fredrikstad
The former Arsenal goalkeeper, who was out of contract, has joined FFK. A team that had to fight hard for their survival in the top division last season.

Olivier Occean (24) has been sold to Lillestrøm SK for 8 million NOK (€1.1 million). The Canadian international striker was Odd Grenland's topscorer the two latest seasons with 25 goals in 51 matches. The contract with Lillestrøm lasts until 2010.

They've also signed midfielder Fredrik Winsnes (29) from Rosenborg. Winsnes, who's got 12 international games for Norway, signed a three years contract with AaB and will wear shirt number 8.

Søren Jensen signed for OB yesterday. The U21-NT player didn't want to extend his contract at Viborg, and leaves on a bosman.

Morten Kruuse has signed for SAS-League relegation strugglers SønderjyskE - he arrives from swedish Helsingborg

Hard to believe Viborg lost Jensen to the club right below them in the table. Seems like an odd move.

Not really - first of all was OB willing to pay more and second of all, OB is generally seen as a larger club than Viborg. OB has a regular goal of being top-4 every season, while Viborg only this season has been among the top clubs.

Lillestrøm have signed Finnish goalkeeper Otto Fredriksson from Borussia Mönchengladbach. Honestly, I don't remember him playing for Borussia, because he's spent the past couple of seasons playing for FF Jaro in Finland.

Alexander Ødegaard joins Viking in the New Year from Rosenborg. Ødegaard failed to make an impression in Trondheim and was left near the bottom in the pecking order for RBK. He impressed with 15 goals in 25 games. Last season, he played 17 games and only managed to find the back of the net 4 times.

There's no real big news out of Finland and Sweden. None is really expected.

Though, IFK Göteborg's new sporting director, Håkan Mild, introduced Ali Gerba. Gerba is a Canadian international. He becomes IFK's 5th striker for next season's campaign. Ali Gerba played with GIF Sundsvall and Montreal Impact, of USL Division 1.

Viking signed right winger / striker Alexander Ødegaard from Rosenborg for 7 million kroner the other day. The Norway international was only one season at Rosenborg, as he failed to impress after his 10 million NOK transfer from Sogndal. Was amazing in the 2004 season, when he despite their relegation scored 15 goals for Sogndal. Hopefully he can get back to his best, as the Norwegian national team certainly could use his pace on the right.
