    The guy has rarely been rested. I'm actually surprised he's been so resilient and had a fairly non-injury season for a position that he plays with brutal intensity. He's a wrecking machine in that midfield. Boca has no one even close to what he does in that midfield. Let's hope 3 weeks until he's back training.

    If Barrios has developed in creating he could play with Sanchez even if it didn't work before.

    But why is Sanchez immovable? Club form he is way behind Lerma or Barrios. Let them play in their correct spots before they are judged on the NT.

    He is a safe bet because of his experience, he knows what Pekerman wants from him and Pekerman trusts him. Lerma and Barrios are big questions marks - club level is great but what about the nt? We don't have enough evidence. Maybe the next friendlies will give us some answers.

    Last friendlies they were solid.....

    Sanchez is playing again, that is good for us.........but i think that in his career he showed up that despite he is a solid player, he doesnt have all the tools to be in a big club....in fact have failed in teams with europa league aspirations like fiore and villa......for me he is a little static attacking despite he is brilliant defending

    I think that Barrios , Lerma and Uribe have that potential to be elite players in elite teams.....

    Yeah Carlos is great.....but we cant say that he in immovable...he isnt james or falcao........In games without him in this cycle and wcq 2014 we have had delicious footba too.............Is not that Barrios should be good to play alognside Sanchez.....isnt

    Barrios, Lerma and Uribe are all great and can become much greater than Sanchez has ever been, but I wouldn't make huge changes at this point. After the world cup we should try new players. I'm not sure it's worth taking the risk right now since things are working with Sanchez. But I agree, Sanchez is not fijo like James or Falcao, so Pekerman might try something new in the friendlies.

    I like it. Why mess up the formula if it ain’t broken? He’s an undisputed starter in a competitive league and competing for silverware every year. I rather see him playing rather than being a sub for some English team.

    I did some research and the last successful players that I can could find were back in the early 2000's. Although technically Watford signed Cucho Hernandez in January however they loaned him to America right after so I didn't count him.

    Juan Pablo Angel
    River -> Aston Villa
    01/01/2001 (13m)

    Mario Yepes
    River -> Nantes
    01/01/2004
    (3m)

    Ivan Cordoba
    San Lorenzo -> Inter
    01/01/2000
    (12.6m)
