Cuando vuelva Gago me parece que se mediocampo va a estar mas que cubrido. Se que Gago juega mas por la posicion de Seba pero cuando regreseal medio campo mas banca para los dos --- ojalá que tengan mas minutos.

Barrios is starting Boca's first game of the year. So is Fabra; Perez on the bench.

Edit: Arboleda is starting as Banfields GK

And he put in a great assist!

I don't particularly like him playing on the side of a 3-man midfield, but he finds himself in the right place at the right time during counters.

Fabra had a nice assist in that game as well.

Hell of a game this guy is having tonight. He's cutting down Patronato's game all over the pitch and he's touched the ball more than anybody else. Can't understand why it's taken Boca this long to finally put the guy where he belongs on the pitch.

Unfortunately, I think Gago is coming back this week...

Agreed, Unfortunately he gave the ball away that lead to the tie but other than that he had a very intelligent game.

Definitely Boca's best today, too. Cutting play everywhere. Getting way more confident holding on to the ball.

Hope they stick with him when Gago comes back.

That would be very helpful if Barrios finds some confidence.

Barrios is becoming fundamental in Bocas mid. Positions himself on the pitch very well and really puts in work for recovering the ball. Thought Gago coming back would've sent him to the bench but good thing I was wrong. Another good game so far

I thought so too. They ended up putting Gago back into the position Barrios had been playing, and Boca looks menacing with him back there. That said, Barrios is getting so comfortable he even looks good playing as an 8.

Must keep in mind that Pablo Perez wasn't available today.

IT was a nice subtle pass to Benedetto to set up the goal. Smart of him to just let the guy paid to scored goals shoot. :D He looked pretty good in attacking and could be the #8 we have been looking for to replace Abel. Maybe????
It is nice to see he is versatile.

Pekerman has put him in key games with no great success. To be fair he wasn't playing much at Boca at the time.

He has not played at home yet either.
I don't like evaluating kids being thrown into the fire on the road until I have seen how they play in front of the home crowd as well.

How Bentacur is ahead of him in the pecking order is beyond me

I think Bentancur is a really talented kid, but form has got to count for something

If they play him some silly Euro team will pay 10-15 million euro for him and his lovely EU pass

The black Colombian even tho is a better player has 0 EU pass and cost way less if they sell him. So they bench him.

Bentancur was already sold to Juventus. Guillermo simply likes the kid. Even if Barrios currently fits more with the rest of the midfield

I still hope he'll gain playing time and improve. He is good but to be honest I still don't trust him with the national team. I hope that he'll change my opinion with his performance in Boca.

MOTM. Not surprised either. The fans applaud and cheered every time he touched the ball. Commentators pointed it out every single time
