Johnson and Williams start at LM and CB respectively. Gyau on the bench. Also, Subotic's starting for Dortmund for those interested.
Dortmund really taking it to Hoffenheim early. Their keeper has had to make several spectacular saves already.
Johnson seems to be on the right side. He has been caught offside twice since I found a stream. Now he's back on the left
Dortmund pounce on a turnover from Rudy (although Hoffenheim's GK probably shares some of the blame) and go up 1-0.
Johnson has been all across the field, including striker. Kagawa made that look much easier than it was.
Kicker has been having trouble figuring this out as well. They initially had him as a left winger in a 4-5-1, then as a right-winger in a 4-3-3. My sense is that he's playing as a left mid in a 4-3-3, but I'm not positive. Edit: Although, as I say that, he's now staying higher up the field.
Weidenfeller denies Hoffenheim from getting one back after Babel dribbled through Dortmund's defense and found himself 1 on 1 with the keeper, albeit at an angle.
A Dortmund player was being closed down by the gk and made a sweet backheel assist to, again, Kagawa.
Fabian Johnson pulls one back for Hoffenheim. Got to the end of a left wing cross and slotted it away.
Giveaway by Braahfield (sp?). Ball came to him on what should have been a routine play. He mis-traps the ball and it bounces to a Dortmund player (I believe Kagawa) who drives toward the box, releases the ball to another Dortmund player who back heels it back to Kagawa. Kagawa shoots...scores. By the way, Johnson just scored. 3-1 Dortmund.
Nice defensive work by Williams there, ran down an attacker who would have been one on one with the goalie.
Dortmund splits the Hoffenheim backline with a through-ball and Williams does an outstanding job to chase down the Dortmund attacker who appeared to be in alone on goal and deflects it out for a corner.
Game over, 3-1. Hoffeneheim fail to use their final sub. Disappointing really, I was hoping to see Gyau's debut today.
