I like how Taiwan has to use a new emblem, flag, and anthem in the Olympics, this baseball tourney, and pretty much every other sporting competition. :)

I wonder how many Chinese games will be ended by the "early termination for large leads" AKA mercy rule.

HAHA this will be most pathetic...although Yomiuri Giants are probably better than at least a couple of MLB teams. :p (ahem ROYALS ahem)

But yea...Chinese Taipei will probably crush China...how sad that will be? :(

A moral victory for China would be to have all 3 games go all 9 innings, but I would be more than willing to bet at least one will fall victim to an early end due to the slaughter rule. Losing to Taiwan will be an act of cross straits friendship. I don't think most people in China even know about this tournament and those that do don't expect any victories, so it really doesn't matter. I wonder if CCTV is even going to bother carrying the games...

Probably not...CCTV only shows games China has a remote chance of winning.

Not necessarily! They televise all of the soccer games, despite the fact we probably only have a remote chance of winning 25% of the time... :D

China finishes 0-3 and activated the mercy rule once--against Japan. Team ERA was 9.72 and team AVG was .185. A total of 8 errors were committed.

I just hope the Chinese Baseball League doesn't get scrapped after the Beijing Olympics.
