I don't think Concacaf will ever make an MLS club play in the CL, but you're right that based on merit the top Costa Rican club, and possibly a couple of other Central American ones, deserve better treatment than the fourth American MLS club.

Liga MX fans shouldn't go into next year or any CCL assuming that MLS won't have any Semifinalists or will have their Semifinalists get blown out. MLS fans shouldn't go into next year or any CCL saying MLS is almost as good as Liga MX or that it is 50-50 what league produces the champion. Those two sentences change if MLS gets much better or (hopefully not) much worse in the long run. scoachd1 may be right that there is a lag about when people notice things, but nobody can notice MLS doing almost as well because MLS hasn't done almost as well. If MLS does almost as well one-third of the time and much worse two-thirds of the time, that isn't almost as well.

We just passed the 19 year mark. We're less than one year away from the prophecy being fulfilled.

Main article: 2000 CONCACAF Champions' Cup
January 17, 2001Quarterfinals Los Angeles Galaxy United States 0–0 (a.e.t.)
(5–3 p) Honduras Real España Los Angeles, California
January 19, 2001Semifinals Los Angeles Galaxy United States 1–1 (a.e.t.)
(4–2 p) United States D.C. United Los Angeles, California
January 21, 2001Final Los Angeles Galaxy United States 3–2 Honduras Olimpia Los Angeles, California

All games at home, so it really shouldn't count, but we'll allow it out of pity.

11 months and 4 days away from them officially going winless for 2 decades.

Yes, the 2000 Champions Cup was played in January 2001.

But failure to win the 2020 CCL will mean 20 years have passed by the time the 2021 CCL is played in February of next year.

    Bump.

Will CONCACAF play the remainder of the 2020 CCL before 21 January 2021? :D

Or will 20 years pass without another ball being kicked? (Hopefully not)

I simply do not believe that the USSF has enough development to provide players that can compete against the other CONCACAF Teams, mainly those in Mexico.

With the CCL back next week this thread will get a satisfactory answer to the question posed.

I'm looking forward to finding out. I forgot what the TV situation is. Spanish speaking on two channels, and Fox2 for English?

    Single game in Orlando.

That is how MLS won their first one right?
