While behind Kroos casually jogging back, while Modrić covering for fullback missing in action.

I think Dani was out on the left there. Kroos was having a smoke break.

1v1 Casemiro lost the duel. No other way to turn this around. Blame Kroos all you want, but it's job of your DM to get a freaking tackle in, or perhaps foul the advancing player in an attempt to break the dangerous play

The irony is that there was no duel at all. He went full Kroos there.

I’m told that the starting spot is his god given right and that Llorente has no business challenging for it because something something 3 CLs something something Alaves.

Kroos watching proudly from the stands (only a couple meters away) as Casmeiro takes his baton to continue his great rest work.

How anyone can dog Casemiro is beyond me. He's one of the two best destroyers in the game and can score a goal as well.

The same people that constantly criticize him rant on and on about Makelele.

Casemiro was not good Vs Barcelona and it was his worst personal display as DM Vs Ajax.
Also, I still think Busquets and Kante > Casemiro

Of course. There's also no reason to nitpick his performance considering Nacho is having his worst year, Carvajal has regressed even further and Kroos is thinking about how not fun it is to run around and chase after a ball.

There are people on this forum that think Casemiro can't play a forward pass.

How about this, I’ll criticize Nacho, Carvajal, Kroos AND Casimero because they’ve all been bad during the past few weeks.

Also he is not a great passer of the ball although he has improved that aspect of his game this season.

Of course he's not a great passer of the ball. He's a destroyer and for that position he's good.

For that position it's important that you can receive the ball and pass it under pressure. It's where your attack starts from the middle of the field and if you lose it (like he does in that area) it leaves your team completely exposed in the center. Making other players running out of their position to fill these gaps.

Thats not the another position, we play a defensive 433, with normally Casemiro as your deepest midfielder. He sometimes struggles with distributing the play, that's why Modric and Kroos drop deeper.

Same thing what Busquets does for Farca, having Arthur and Rakitic (next season Frenkie) ahead of him.

Even Pep turned Fernandinho to somehow a footballing dm. Having KdB and David Silva ahead of him. The Fernandinho under Pellegrini and the one under Pep look like 2 different players.

We on other hand have a coach who doesn't make our players better, he only makes them look worse.

^ Barca should not be reference point to how we must play. They play differently.same with Pep..
And Casermiro is way better than Fernadihno btw.

God given right, players have no business challenging for a spot?, nope , no idea what you are talking about,

Never bought into the idea of picking specific games to decide how good or bad a player is though, not sure what that’s about, I prefer to have a look over a season as to what the player has brought to the team to make a determination but, to each his own

I’m amazed at how long this dumb, can’t play under pressure, rubbish player has been able to last in our midfield under different coaches, and contributed to us winning so many trophies, though, it’s astounding

As i’ve said many times though after awhile every team needs to be refreshed can’t keep the same squad forever, no matter how much they have won, oh, and Busquets and Kanté can stay where they are , I am happy with the trophies we have won with this squad and recognize we cannot always win, no matter who is playing for us
